01. FATMAWATI - SOEKARNO AIRPORT DOMESTIC PASSANGER TERMINAL

TYPOLOGY : transportation LOCATION : BENGKULU AREA : ACADEMIC FINAL PROJECT SUPERVISOR : PERMANA S.T., M.T.

Domestic passenger terminal in Fatmawati Soekarno Airport Bengkulu is a project by Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Udara with the Government of Bengkulu Province. This airport is developed to accommodate the increasing capacity that has been estimated for 2034. On the 3rd stage, this passenger terminal can accommodate to 2.637.606 passenger. This terminal area is 3.030 m2 consisted of two stories. The main design concept is Building Within the Nature. Building Within the Nature made to describe how this terminal can respond its site. This building will not only be an individual building but this building can stand along with the surrounding. If this approach is used properly, it can leave a great impression for the passenger.


i n i t i a l A N A LY S I S LOCATION Bengkulu Province is located in the southern part of Sumatera Island. Bengkulu is sorrounded by the “Bukit Barisan� mountain. This geographical condition makes air transportation as the easiest transportation mode to Bengkulu. Bengkulu is located in the perimeter of Hindia Ocean. The topology slope is less than 3%.

Airport passenger is growing along with the population growth. The passenger growth is not accomodated with a decent passenger terminal.

Bengkulu stands exactly above two active tectonic plates which are The Indo-Australia tectonic plate and Eurasia tectonic plate that cause high intensity earthquake in Bengkulu.

Bengkulu is not really famous for its tourism. But Bengkulu has a lot of natural and cultural tourism potential.

Designed to give a clear direction for the passenger and allows the terminal building to expand its size when it is nessecary.

Steel was choosen for the main structure and space frame is the main structure system

This terminal is using centralized air conditioner to accomodate the living zone so it will be saving more energy.

CONCEPT

The main design concept is “Building within The Nature�. This concept means that a building should not be a stand-alone building. A good architecture have to compromise itself with the sorrounding nature. This concept is giving the idea of combination between natural features and manmade features.

MIXED-USE BUILDING

TYPOLOGY : MIXED-USE LOCATION : SUDIRMAN, BANDUNG 4th year architecture studio project SUPERVISOR: dr. ing. himasari hanan, mae.

High density is a major problem faced by every urban area nowadays. A massive block created to maximize the use of the land as a building coverage. This problem is causing lack of open space and permeability on urban area. The city is dominated by building and vehicle, but less people and pedestrian friendly. Mixed-use building with permeability is one of the best solution to create a public realm. Sudirman, known as the heart of Bandung, is facing a major high-density problem. Massive block created on every site in the middle of the city. This mixed-use project designed to be an answer for the high-density problem and also create a permeable perimeter to bring back the idea of public realm.


S I T E A N A LY S I S LOCATION Sudirman Street is one of the prime location in Bandung. Located in the heart of the city, the district is really active with a lot of activities from day to night. This district is really famous for its food and entertainment activities. This area is an attractor for many visitors in Bandung. Passed by two main roads, this area is very accessible with many different kinds of transportation.

The site is located between two Bandung artery road Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Cibadak and also accessible from secondary road Jalan Kasmin. Identity

Permeability allows people to cross one street to another. It is one of the best solution to bring back the idea of public realm to the center of the city

The high-density public space should not disturb the high-density private living. The connection between each function is the key to safe and balanced high-density living.

The district has a very strong identity. The identity should be enhanced by the design so the district will be a well-known district for its identity in the future.

ZO N I N G CO N C E P T

The mixed-use building consists of three-story public zone and eighteen-story apartment for the total of twenty one-story building. The life-style centre has more food and beverages tenant to respond the strong culinary context. The life-style centre has three anchor placed in the corner in every level to attract the visitor and to maintain visitor’s movement cycle to other stores. The third floor consist of food court and many entertainment places accessible 24/7.

Permeability through the building is a way of giving back the idea of public realm. The building designed with permeability to give a public access from Sudirman Street to Cibadak Street. This permeability pedestrian path creates more frontage for the retail. The active pedestrian path brings more customer to the retail nd the other facilities in this mixed-use building.

TYPOLOGY : educational facility LOCATION : jatinangor, jawa barat 3rd year architecture studio project SUPERVISOR : ir. hidayat amir

ITB Jatinangor is designed to be the main educational facility for the first year student and students from certain major. There is a need to build a student center as a supporting facility in the middle of ITB Jatinangor Campus. The program contains eat, play, study, meet, and other supporting activities.

This site is located in the heart of ITB Jatinangor. Its is surrounded by many vital campus amenities. It is passed by the campus’ main road from the campus gate to the students’ dormitory.

The site’s slope is around 20% - 30%. The slope is very steep with lake behind the site.

massinG concept

The mass configuration creates a positive space surrounded by all building mass.

The mass on the left twisted 45o to open the positive space even more and a connecting mass added as a building transition

Space between the mass turned into garden to connect one mass to the other.

The mass consists of a level below the ground and two level above the ground with a rooftop.

High-density living is becoming more popular among the urban citizens. The high demand of housing with very little land available make public housing as one of the high-density living solution. Public housing is one of many solution for urban living . This public housing is not only accomodating residents by quantity, but also by quality. This public housing is offering a healthy living with a lot of communal open space to build a strong community. Various types of open space designed to accomodate the residents’ needs from various generation.This public housing is not only designed for the residents’ but also for the surrounding environment.

Cicadas is a high-density area in the centre of Bandung. This site is passed by one of the main road in Bandung, Jalan H. Ibrahim Adjie. The site is located in front of Cicadas River. The surrounding land use is mainly public and commercial. The surrounding residencial is an incremental kampoong. The residents is using their house for living and as a shophouse.

High-Density

Living in a high-density area makes community issue as one of the biggest challenge. It can be solved by designing various community spaces and programs

The built environment along with the natural environment should be balanced to create a healthy living for the residents.

A high-density living complex should accomodate the residents’ needs. This will be solved by designing various units.

The open space network was designed to provide healthy living and lifestyle for the residents. The open space network designed to accomodate the needs of community space for the residents. The green corridor allows the residents walk from one open space to another open space comfortably. Vehicular way is limited to the parking area.

The in-between space create varios open spaces. The building height varies from 4 - 5 stories high. This low-rise building with wide open space create a good human scale for the residents so the residents will not feel like they are blocked by massive building.
