The name of the Mache Chindul Ecological Reserve comes from the small mountain ranges on which it is located, the last obstacle before reaching the Pacific Ocean from the continent’s interior. It has 119,172 hectares which protect remnants of humid and dry tropical forests at elevations from 200 to 800 meters above sea level at the tops of the mountains. The name Dos Mangas comes from the times in which the people of the community called the rivers, Mangas, and near the town there was a joint of two river streams, Grande and Coin. The El Castillo Farm is located 1:30 minutes from the Royal Decameron Punta Centinela. Discover the paths that hold the cocoa farms, visiting one of the best known agritoursim farms in this area, the Hacienda El Castillo, has an area of 160 hectares of cocoa farms where entered for different paths of no more than 100 meters, visitors can learn the history, processes and harvest one of the most important crops having Ecuador, taste the delicious juice of cocoa, the typical plantains, chocolate crafts and a delicious dessert made with chocolate factory farm.
