CustomLEDOutdoor Retrofit Kit As part of DECO Lighting's commitment to green technologies we have instituted a process of retrofitting existing incandescent, HID and fluorescent outdoor luminaires to LED. We are aware that many businesses have invested a significant amount of money into their existing lighting fixtures. DECO Lighting offers a low-cost solution which allows you to keep the original fixtures you purchased while using our expertise to retrofit them to new, energy-saving LED. DECO Lighting has developed a revolutionary LED board that dissipates heat faster and more efficiently than any other product on the market. Combined with this patent-pending technology, DECO uses the surface area of your existing fixture as a heat sync, eliminating the cost of producing an expensive, separate heat sync for each fixture.

How do you get started? Retrofitting existing fixtures to LED is a simple, three-step process: 1. Email DECO a photograph of your existing fixture and provide the wattage. DECO will provide the conversion value for the wattage of your existing fixture to LED. 2. Send DECO a sample of one of your fixtures. We will build a custom LED retrofit kit that meets the specifications of your fixture and install it to ensure compatibility. 3. DECO returns your fixture with the customized kit that meets your fixture's specifications to you for your inspection. After your approval, DECO will build the appropriate number of retro-fit kits and send them to you with a complete set of installation instructions. DECO Lighting is the only manufacturer of its kind that backs its products with a 10-year warranty on parts AND labor. The custom-engineered LED retrofit kit you receive for your fixtures is comparable to the LED engine we install in our new products, effectively converting your old technology to LED smart technology.

DECO Lighting's new and retrofit products are also compatible with the Daintree Networks Integrated Wireless Controller, which allows you to control and monitor your lighting fixtures via a wireless network. This optional, innovative system reduces cost by eliminating the need to run control wires from each fixture back to the network's central controller. Using an integrated wireless system is the most efficient way to run multiple installations while providing accurate data on energy consumption and management. This rugged vapor-proof LED light is built to last. With industrialgrade rubber gaskets as sealants and automobile grade aluminum, this LED light is a beacon against Mother Nature. With a COB Led inside, it provides performance lighting while utilizing very little power. The die-cast guard on the outside of the glass protects the fixture from breakage, adding an additional element of protection for the high-power LED. Optics are a fundamental component of LED lighting systems, and the optical performance of an LED system determines the system’s quality and performance. Our advanced optical designs make Deco luminaires the perfect solution for any lighting application. Indexed to the circuit board to ensure consistent optical alignment, our optics deliver repeatable photometric performance, and their precision-molded acrylic lenses provide optimal luminaire spacing and improved uniformity. Deco Lighting’s focus on producing clean-energy products is demonstrated through our optical systems, which are Dark Sky compliant, and control light above 90 degrees, eliminating wasteful up light. These optics will now be applied to several of our outdoor luminaires including the D824-LED and D826-LED, two premiere roadway lighting fixtures, as well as the D816-LED and D823-LED, two aesthetically appealing flood lights that utilize a soft-cornered aerodynamic design to provide excellent light distribution. Customers will have a choice of three optimized distributions Type II, Type III/Type IV, and Type V. DESIGNERS CHECKLIST KNOW YOUR LED. DECO Lighting™ is committed to the design, integration engineering, and manufacturing of quality LED luminaires. Our goal is to inspire a new commercial lighting experience in all ways; ergonomically, economically, and environmentally. LM-79 is a suite of tests developed by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) to accurately assess the photometric performance of an LED light fixture. The tests capture Brightness (lumens), Power (watts), Efficacy (lumens/watt), and Chromaticity (Color, CRI, Hue). The tests are administered by a select group of independent labs that have been certified by the DOE. To insure a fixture will perform “as advertised” on a cut sheet, the published specifications should be supported by LM-79 test results. LM-80 is a test developed by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) used to demonstrate the useful life of an LED. Administered by the LED component manufacturer, it captures the rate at which LED light output decreases over time. The test is very time consuming, taking 6,000 hours of 24/7 operation to complete (roughly 9 months). Quality LEDs are expected to yield a LM-80 result of a minimum of 70% of the original light output of the LED still being delivered after 50,000 hours of operation. LED fixtures which are built using LEDs that have successfully passed LM-80 testing ensures delivery on the promise of a long, maintenance free life. The DLC is a collaboration of utility companies committed to ensuring that high-quality, energy-efficient lighting design becomes commonplace in commercial buildings. In order for utility companies throughout the United States to provide financial incentives in the form of rebates on projects implementing LED light fixtures, they require that the LED fixtures being used on the project are listed as DLC Qualified Product. To achieve DLC Qualified Product status, fixtures must meet a rigorous set of performance criteria including but not limited to, LM-79 and LM-80. In order to capture valuable rebates for your projects, you must ensure that the LED fixtures are DLC Qualified. A Power Supply Unit (PSU, also known as a ‘Driver’) Is used in an LED fixture to convert line voltage AC power into low voltage DC power to energize the LEDs. PSUs have a broad range of reliability (useful life) based on the quality of the components used in their design. Since a properly designed LED light fixture has the potential to provide an exceptionally long life, it is critical that the PSU is equally robust, as specified by the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). A well-designed, highly reliable LED light fixture will include a PSU with a MTBF of 3X the rated L70 life of the LED, typically 150,000 hours MTBF. Emergency lighting is mandated by code in most commercial buildings. In order to provide emergency lighting, select fixtures need to be able to continue to operate during a power failure. This is typically achieved by using a backup generator, a centralized inverter, or an integrated battery backup unit (BBU). Integrating the BBU with an LED fixture is by far the most competitive solution when evaluating the total cost of installation. Integrating a BBU into an LED fixture requires engineering expertise, additional electrical circuitry, and a separate UL certification. To offer the lowest cost solution and still meet building safety code, an Integrated Battery Backup solution for LED fixtures is required. Replaceable LED boards, found in well-designed LED fixtures, ensures that field repairs can be handled easily and at a low cost. It also allows fixtures to be upgraded over time as the performance of the LEDs continue to improve, providing some measure of future-proofing the initial investment. A LED light fixture must be UL Listed in order to meet building codes. Tested by UL, an independent product safety certification organization. LEDs require separate UL testing for each type of LED and PSU used in a specific fixture. To get the best performance, it is important to ensure that the latest LED and power supply technology is being used in a fixture and that it is fully UL listed. In-Situ (In Situation) Testing is an additional UL test, performed upon request. The test involves measuring the fixture’s performance while installed in a typical application environment. For a troffer, when placed in a recessed ceiling grid, can experience a severe heat environment as ventilation is often very limited. For LEDs to perform effectively, it is critical that the temperature of the LEDs inside the fixture (in-situ) do not violate the LED manufacturer’s published specification for heat tolerance. The greater the difference between the LED manufacturer’s temperature spec and the in-situ measured temperature result, the more reliable the LEDs will operate over time. ©2014 DECO LIGHTING • 31
