Decorex Africa is pleased to announce the Design Takeover comprising a host of exciting activities that are geared towards stimulating the industry and bringing South Africa’s creative design industry life!
In keeping with Decorex Africa’s longstanding and ongoing commitment to bring the design community together, various showrooms will host exclusive networking trade functions during the next two months. These functions are aimed at architects, interior designers, specifiers, hospitality buyers, corporate procurement, product designers, property developers, building contractors and media. The functions will encompass the latest product launches as well as Trend Talks presented by speakers such as Decorex Africa’s Creative Director, Anita Bloom. All key industry players will be invited to connect, learn and keep the design industry moving forward.
The end of September saw Design Connect, which was an inspiring 3 full days of compelling headline talks, trend forecasts and panel discussions with both leading designers and rising stars of the African design world. If you missed these talks, you can view them again on the Decorex Africa website.
Decorex Africa, comprising of Decorex and 100% Design South Africa, have brought the design community together every year since inception. It remains important for all of us in the industry to combine and conduct our businesses, share ideas, learn from each other, support the greater community, and celebrate when and where possible. We have also launched a curated ecommerce site where you can shop the very best in design and décor. To view our online store click here. We will be celebrating 29 years next year and can’t wait to be hosting all of you at the live exhibitions once again! For our 29th year the theme we have chosen has been drawn from lifestyle and design trends across the globe. The New Natural is a celebration of design - creating environments anchored in multi-sensory experiences and the integration of elements such as organic shapes, natural materials, plants, fresh air, daylight or water features.
Over the last year, the role of the home has changed. With the global outbreak of COVID-19 and the social-distancing and self-isolation restrictions that are now in place, being at home more often, it has become the new reality.
We hope you enjoy this edition of Design Edit and are inspired by all the Trend Talks and networking functions.
See you next year!
