Top Entrance Exams: Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Main) Details Here are the details of a top online entrance exam that is held each year. Yes, we are talking about the JEE main exam. It is also conducted in the pen and paper format. The Joint Entrance Exam (Main) is held by CBSE, for admission to different Undergraduate Engineering Programs at IIITs, NITs. Other Centrally financed Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by the respective State Governments, and different Institutions. For engineering courses, applicants show up for Paper – I and for engineering courses, applicants show up for Paper – II. Additionally, (JEE Main) is a qualification exam for (JEE Advanced), which is for entry to undergrad programs offered by the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and ISM (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The basic academic qualification to become eligible for this examination is any candidate who has cleared the 10+2 level final examination. An equivalent examination would also do. For those who have appeared for the 12th final exam, can sit for the exam provisionally. However, the entry criteria in the respective institute or university will be as laid down by that organization and in accordance to the criteria and guidelines stated by AICTE. AGE LIMIT: The age limit for the general category candidates is 25 years. For the SC/ST and disabled persons, the age limit is extended by 5 years i.e. 30 years of age. ALLOWED NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: A candidate is allowed to sit for the JEE (Mains) for a maximum of three attempts. NUMBER OF SUBJECTS APPEARED FOR IN THE QUALIFYING EXAM: On a general premise, applicants are required to have taken no less than five subjects in class twelfth/qualifying examination so as to become qualified for writing JEE (Main). The applicants who have opted for four subjects, are not allowed to sit for JEE (Main) and if such hopefuls show up in JEE (Main) by outfitting incorrect information, their rank/result won’t be pronounced. PATTERN OF THE EXAM: JEE (Main) usually has 2 papers namely, Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Planning. /B. Arch.). Applicants may attempt Paper-1 (B. E. /B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B.
