Dog Obedience

This program provides you with techniques and strategies to train your dog with firmness, love and understanding. Get help with problems facing dog owners such as nipping, chewing, jumping and housebreaking. All dogs must have health certificates, protective medication/shots and must be free of communicable diseases. Aggressive dogs are not allowed. Owners must clean up after their pet inside and outside the premises. Dogs must complete the beginner level class to attend intermediate. Adult Ceramics

Learn the fundamentals of hands building and throwing as well as the use of glazes to create decorative ceramic pieces such as clocks, bowls, wall hangings and other projects you will enjoy making. Some wheel training will be included. The only limit is your imagination! Classes are small to provide individual attention and you will work on your projects at your own pace. Self Defense

This class puts your safety first as you learn practical self-defense. Based on traditional Japanese Jujitsu, this course will focus on how to defend yourself from the most common attacks. It will also include traditional sweeps, throws and groundwork. It is designed for both beginners and advanced students alike. Optional testing at the end of the session may lead to rank advancement. 50+ Adult Summer Excursions

The PTC specializes in deluxe, motor coach excursions with the active adult in mind. This summer, the PTC is delighted to offer three, exciting excursions during the months of June, July and August. In June, join us as we set sail to enjoy an experience on an architectural riverboat cruise along the banks of the Chicago River. (Sect. 01) In July, in partnership with the Lake County Dunn Museum, enjoy an afternoon walking tour of the great and historic Ft. Sheridan. Learn more about this majestic complex, its many buildings, artifacts and legendary commanders of war this active military base once housed. (Sect. 02) In August, travel with us to the American Family Stadium in Milwaukee to see the Chicago Cubs take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Enjoy the game from your shaded seat located between the 3rd base line and left field in the terrace reserved section. (Sect. 03) As always, we invite you to bring a friend. PTC Women’s Club Lunches and Desserts

Each month, let us do the planning for your ladies day out. Treat yourself to new experiences as you visit new lands with our dramatists, enjoy new sounds with noted musicians and vocalists and explore new mediums with area artists. Members and guests are all warmly welcomed. Advanced registration is required one week before each scheduled program. In June, enjoy lunch then listen to Gary Midkiff as he presents Overlooked American Women in History. Learn more about the fascinating lives and worlds of such historic women as Mary Walton, Jeanette Rankin, Genieve Forbes and more. In July, enjoy dessert and a local violinist, Martin Lopez, and his special tribute to the American Songbook. In August, join us for lunch and then welcome political lecturer, Dr. Julie Strauss presenting Women in Politics: The Difference They Make. Beginning Canasta

Art Alive

Explore the masterpieces of the art world and learn about the history and paintings of the world’s most beloved artists with a Columbia Art School Art Educator. At The Conductor’s Podium

Composer and Music Researcher Jim Kendros returns to the Patty Turner Center with his highly informative and entertaining series of immortal classical music. Learn about the lives of the great composers, experience videotaped live performances by world renowned artists. Jim will also perform on the piano to provide a better understanding of the composer’s thinking and melodic composition. Tone & Firm

Staying toned and firm is a matter of dedication to a regular exercise routine. Improve muscle tone and gain added strength and flexibility.
