You will be introduced to the fascinating world of artistic expression. Artistic quality is within everyone and there are skills and techniques you can learn in order to express those qualities externally. Voice Lessons

Do you love to sing? Would you like to improve your sound, learn proper form and techniques? Voice lessons are a great way to build confidence and poise. Youth Yoga

Soccer 101

Players are introduced to the fundamentals of soccer tactics such as passing the ball, offensive moves, defensive moves, keeping/controlling the ball and taking the ball away from the opposing team. Players learn to score and prevent goals. Physical endurance and fitness are emphasized while touching the ball. The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Players should have basic knowledge of the rules and be able to dribble comfortably in order to succeed in the class. Everyone Has Fun! Build Your Own Athletic Program

Gather your friends and build your own athletic program! Do you want to participate in some of the amazing programs the Deerfield Park District has to offer, but are worried about being in a class with others that you may not know? We can help you shape your own recreation “pod” experience with your friends. The Deerfield Park District is partnering with Hot Shots Sports to bring you this program. Your “pod” can have up to nine kids. Soccer 201

In the next stage of their progression, players increase their playing stamina and speed in an up-tempo game like atmosphere. The clinic’s specific technique training involves strength and placement shooting, landing on the shooting foot, precision passing, settling the ball with various body parts and advanced fundamentals and skill maneuvers. Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard/ post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball, and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, help-line and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shot using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Beginning Rhythmic Gymnastics

If you like music, dance, tumbling, and creativity, you have to try rhythmic gymnastics. It combines the beauty and artistry of dance with the strength and power of tumbling. Gymnasts perform routines to music using hand apparatus such as ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes and clubs. In the beginner class, girls will learn the basic body positions, elementary apparatus handling and musicality. Gymnasts may wear leotards or basic dance clothes. Youth Indoor Triathlon

The perfect introduction to the world of Multisport. This indoor event will be held at the Sachs Recreation Center. Athletes will participate in a 5 minute timed swim, a 15 minute timed bike ride and a 10 minute timed run. The goal will be for each participant to cover as much distance as possible in the time allowed for each of the three disciplines. Each participant will need to provide their own swimming, biking and running gear. The Sachs Recreation Center will provide the indoor stationary bikes. Locker rooms will be available for changing clothes before, during and after the event. This is a non-competitive event, meaning no age group awards will be given. We do, however, encourage each athlete to give their best effort during this event. Each participant will be provided with a goody bag.
