HELLO
My name is Deja Munson, I am from a somewhat small town called Port Byron IL. I would say my passion for design grew from playing the sims computer game, I loved re-building the existing homes and then also building brand new ones. My love in the design field is with Residential design. I love the personal connections you make with the client. I have always been a big person in helping and with design I can help make Beautiful spaces for those that need it. My education at Kirkwood has been an amazing one, coming from out of state to get the best education in this field was the best choice I have ever made!

BATHROOM DESIGN Location: BOULDER, COLORADO TEAM: INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT DURATION: 2 WEEKS
TOOLS: SKETCH-UP PRO, LUMION 9, ADOBE INDESIGN,2020 DESIGN DESIGN STATEMENT: Liam and Olivia Taylor are a married couple in their mid 40’s that live in Bolder, Colorado. They are looking to remodel their master bathroom. Olivia likes the shabby-chic vibe, naturals with pop of colors and patterns. liam likes mixed materials and favors function over style. With knowing these things I took Shabby-chic and made it modern with updated finishes and fixtures. Also keeping Liam’s request, I Mixed in wood tones and Smart Appliances.

Vacation Home Location: Lake Martin, Alabama TEAM: INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROJECT DURATION: 10 WEEKS
TOOLS: SKETCH-UP PRO, LUMION 9, ADOBE INDESIGN,2020 DESIGN DESIGN STATEMENT:
PROJECT SCOPE:
MY CLIENTS ARE LOOKING TO BUILD A SMALL VACATION HOME ON LAKE MARTIN IN ALABAMA. WANTING TO SOURCE PRODUCTS FROM AROUND THE AREA, I MADE SURE TO FIND PLENTY OF PIECES FROM LOCAL SHOPS. NOT HAVING A SPECIFIC DESIGN STYLE AND NOT BEING SUPER PICK I TOOK THIS AND WENT WITH A MODERN LAKE HOUSE LOOK. USING NATURAL PALLETS WITH SOME SAND AND PEACH COLORS TO BRING THAT MODERN LOOK TOGETHER TO MAKE THE PERFECT SOPHISTICATED DESIGN. I ALSO BROUGHT IN DIFFERENT COLORS FROM DIFFERENT ELEMENTS SUCH AS RUGS AND PAINTINGS TO KEEP THE DESIGN FROM BEING TOO MOTTO TONED. DM

LOCATION Lake Martin is located in Tallapoosa, Elmore and Coosa counties in Alabama. It is a 44,000-acre (178 km²) reservoir with over 750 miles (1,200 km) of wooded shoreline. Lake Martin is a reservoir, formed by the construction of Martin Dam on the Tallapoosa River. The Martin Dam powerhouse is used to generate hydroelectric power for the Alabama Power Company. Attractions:
Lake Martin has many popular attractions, including eagles nest, natural sand beaches, restaurants, camping areas and popular islands. The lake has several landmarks, such as the Kowaliga Bridge, and several marinas, but perhaps the most recognized landmark on the lake is Chimney Rock, a large rock formation that resembles a chimney.

TOOLS: SKETCH-UP PRO, AUTODESK REVIT, LUMION 9, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, ADOBE INDESIGN DESIGN STATEMENT:
For my concept I wanted to go outside my comfort zone but also somehow wanted my fixture to represent me in the design. So with that being said I went with the Taurus constellation which is my star sign. I went back and forth with different design concepts and how to create the final product. I finally went with the design that you can see on the right.
