TOYSTORE DESIGN & DISPLAY INT 2280: STUDIO III HUMAN INTERFACE
STOREFRONT DISPLAY AND RETAIL SPACE DESIGN
DESIGN CONCEPT For Project 2, I decided to brand and market a space for the collectable board game, Clue. We are all familiar with the original “who done did it” game, and even more so, we are familiar with the Clue mansion. In designing the retail space, I aimed to recreate the experience of being in the mansion and a part of the mystery game. I wanted to create as interactive and immersive an experience as possible. Shoppers should immediately feel like the y are taken back to the 1920’s dinner party. The retail fixtures are mixed among antique furnishing pieces as to effectively market merchandise as well as enhance the experience. To do so, the retail space is divided into the rooms of the house. The rooms include the lounge, the billiard, the dining room, and the ballroom . The study and the conservatory rooms are featured in the storefront window displays. The desired retail sold in the space ranges from collectable board games to Clue themed party supplies to 1920’s costumes, creating a toystore that is fun and welcoming for all ages.
DESIGN STATEMENT To create an immersive and interactive environment in which customers feel as though they are a part of the game of Clue, achieved through the use of antique furniture and designs to recreate the board game mansion.
SPACE PLANNING PROCESS
The goal was to create the most effective and memorable customer experience possible. The space planning of the store was aimed to recreate the Clue mansion in a way that the customers felt as though they were the dinner party guests. The rooms included from the game Mansion: The Study The Conservatory The Billiard The Hall The Ballroom The Dining Room

PATTERN SHEET DESIGN INT 2180 STUDIO II: PLANE & PATTERN
MIDTERM PROJECT FALL 2018 SEMESTER TO CREATE THREE ORIGINAL PATTERN SHEET DESIGNS THAT REFLECT SPECIFIC PROMPTS. EMOTION, A STORY, HIERARCHY
nostalgia This pattern was designed with the intent and desire to evoke the feeling of Nostalgia in its viewers. I wanted to primarily capture the feeling and aesthetic of the teenage years, with a vintage spin. With all of the freedoms, adventures, and memories that fill that time of our lives. Through the use of familiar vintage images and objects, viewers are taken back to a time where great movies, great music, and great art were made and live on forever.
stand by me This pattern was designed to convey the central story line of 1986 film, Stand By Me. While four young friends embark on an ambitious journey away from home, they learn valuable lessons about themselves, the meaning of friendship, and the realities of growing up. In my pattern, I attempt to highlight the boys’ strong bond of friendship through the use of the Celtic knot, while also tieing in a central symbol of the film, the train tracks.
Pattern 2: Tell a Story
LINE DRAWING
Pattern 3: Hierarchy
the city For my third pattern, I wanted to demonstrate social hierarchy through images of a city skyline. I wanted to portray the uptown sophistication in high contrast with the colorful and expressive downtown. I used bright, contrasting color schemes for the “downtown to portray places of high creativity, individuality, and expression. Then, the skyline fades back to monochromatic then to grayscale schemes, showing that as you climb up in the social and economic classes, the imagination, expression, and freedom seem to fade away as responsibilities and careers take over.
