High School Musical

After being postponed due to the pandemic, the cast and crew of the De La Salle College / OLSH College production of High School Musical, finally hit the stage for four sell-out shows at OLSH in late March.

Director, Julie Freeman-Smith, said the production had overcome numerous obstacles. “We faced numerous challenges along the way including a worldwide pandemic, resulting in lockdowns and remote learning,” she said. Rehearsals began back in February 2021 with a cast, crew and orchestra of over 90 students.

“Each and every student has immersed themselves in their role and worked extremely hard to bring their characters to life on the stage,” she said. “During these unusual times that we find ourselves in, we have discovered that we’re all in this together and that we are never truly alone. We are always surrounded by those who love and care for us and encourage us not to stick to the status quo, but to break free and follow our dreams.”

“They should be tremendously proud of the professional manner in which they have carried themselves throughout the production.”
