Message from the Northern Regional Construction Association Chair, Lee Bedell

Have you ever had trouble getting paid for work performed? Do you find yourself struggling over issues that might impact your business activities? Have you ever started to read a set of construction tender documents, asking what is the risk you would be taking on, but bid anyway or pass on the opportunity? Have you been following major projects in Northern B.C., such as LNG, but do not know how to get your foot in the door?
These issues are why construction-related firms all over Northern B.C. have become members of the Northern Regional Construction Association. We recognize that the construction industry is complex and challenging, and through our association, you can be comfortable we are available to provide you the requisite services to maneuver the many questions so that you are able to focus on the success of your business and career.
Our board of directors and CEO continue to focus the key issues, like prompt payment, as we feel that all contractors and suppliers must be paid on time. We look forward to our continued partnership with our industry partners to advocate our provincial elected officials to make “prompt payment” legislation a priority in 2021.
It is with great pleasure to serve as a director on the BC Construction Association and currently as the chair of the Northern Regional Construction Association. Our board and staff work diligently to understand the market issues, promote fair bidding practices and continue to be the voice of construction in Northern B.C. l
