MISSION STATEMENT

Delgado’s English as a Second Language Program introduces students to American and New Orleans cultures and aims to improve students’ English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in preparation for study at an American college or university.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the English-as-a-Second-Language Program, students will: • Demonstrate fluency in English writing, reading, listening, and speaking in a variety of academic and workforce settings. • Apply knowledge of cultural values and history, both of the United States and New

Orleans.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Schedule Options All levels of Conversation will meet via Zoom while Basic and Intermediate Grammar, Reading, and Composition will be offered in a virtual “live” format, so students will meet with these classes via Zoom and complete additional coursework online. Below is a schedule of when these classes meet via Zoom:

Monday 9 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Composition

11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar

Monday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Reading Tuesday 8 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Conversation 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Reading

Tuesday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Composition Day Classes Wednesday 9 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Composition

11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar Evening Classes Wednesday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Reading Thursday 8 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Conversation 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Reading

Thursday 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Composition Friday 8 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Composition

11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Grammar

Advanced Grammar, Composition & Reading will be offered as traditional online courses, so students can complete the required coursework at times convenient to their schedules as long as they meet the deadlines specified by their instructors.
