SCHOOL OF NURSING BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (BSN): – Students applying to this program are not yet nurses. Graduates of this program are prepared to take the licensure exam to become a registered nurse. REGISTERED NURSE–BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (RN-BSN) – Students applying to this program are currently registered nurses with either an associate degree or diploma degree. – Students often pursue their RN-BSN in order to obtain or maintain a management position. Students may also be preparing themselves for advanced study.

GET IN THE GAME You feel it when you wake up in the morning... anticipation. As game time gets closer, the feeling grows more intense. No matter the sport, there’s excitement in the air. As a student athlete, the pressure is on. Take part in one of the most competitive athletic programs in Division II sports. Or maybe you prefer screaming from the student section. Join your friends and get into the excitement. You can rest in the offseason. Hit the stands and cheer the green and white to another national championship.

The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen boast nine national championships, 55 regional crowns and 46 conference titles. Delta State athletes have collected 45 Academic All-American honors to rank tenth all-time in NCAA Division II history.

FINANCIAL A SSISTANCE

INVESTING IN YOU You’ve got options. Delta State University offers a comprehensive program of financial aid to assist students in obtaining a college education. Financial Aid is granted to students on the basis of financial need. Students should apply for federal financial aid on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov no later than March 1 of each year. The federal aid programs available for eligible Delta State Students are: Pell Grant SMART Grant Work Study

If you are a dependent undergraduate student, the maximum you can borrow each year is $7500 as a Junior or Senior. ($2000 of this amount must be an unsubsidized loan) If you are an independent undergraduate student or a dependent student whose parents are unable to get a PLUS loan (a parent loan), the maximum you can borrow each year is $12,500 as a Junior or Senior. ($7500 of this amount must be an unsubsidized loan) NOTE: All students will not receive the maximum amount. No student will receive more than the maximum amount.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

APPLY YOURSELF So here’s what it takes to get in. Students who meet the requirements for entering freshmen may transfer to Delta State University from a regionally accredited community, junior or senior college, provided a 2.0 GPA has been maintained on all college courses attempted. Students must also be in good academic standing with the last college or university attended. Any student who does not meet entering freshmen requirements may transfer to Delta State University after completing the following 24 semester credit hours with an overall 2.0 GPA on all hours attempted: 6 semester hours of english composition 3 semester hours of college algebra or higher math 6 semester hours of laboratory science 9 semester hours of transferable electives
