Prather Coliseum

Perhaps the toughest arena to play in the Southland Conference, Prather Coliseum is now in its seventh decade of hosting Northwestern State basketball and is named after H. Lee Prather, the all-time winningest coach in Demon Basketball history. The 3,400-seat multi-purpose facility was constructed in 1963 and sits on the banks of Chaplin’s Lake, just south of Turpin Stadium. The coliseum houses offices for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, the NSU news bureau, sports information, compliance, athletic facilities and vice president of external affairs offices. The arena was given a major facelift before the 2012-13 season with the addition of a permanent wood floor that fits three basketball courts, attractive new courtside purple seating that includes end-zone bleachers and new interior signage and banners. A digital touch screen complete with wall graphics and an induction board celebrate NSU's N-Club Hall of Fame, an athletics hall of fame which honors NSU's best student-athletes in program history.
