Okay,nowwrite theanswer.(Get the student to write their personalanswerto the questionthey havecompleted.)

Grammarobjective:Topractise wh-question formation. Materials: Onecopyof theworksheet foreach pairof students, penandpaper. Summary:Thefirstpartof thisactivityis an pairwork accuracy-based matching activity, practising thecorrectuseof auxil¡ary verbs in wh-questions. Thesecondpartis a communicative mingling activity whichwill provide fluencypractice in usingLvh-questions.

1 . Copyandcutup onesetof Question cardsandone

setof Auxiliaryaerbutrdsforeachpairof students. 2. Keepthequestions andtheauxiliaryverbsin two separate pilesfor eachpair.Usepaperclips or envelopes.

Tell studentsto walk round the classasking the arh-questionsuntil they find the personwhose answersmatch the answerson the sheet.

1 . Divide the classinto pairs. Make sure eaih student has a pieceof paper to write on. Give out one set of QuestionandAuxilinry aerb cardsto eachpair.

3. Tell them to take the set of Auxilian¡aerbcards (hold them up). 4.

Tell them to spreadthem out on the desk (demonstrate).

5. Tell them to take the pack of Questioncards(hoId them up). 6.

Tell them to placethem facedown in a pile on the desk (demonstrate).

7. Demonstratethe activity with one group while the otherslook on: Teacher:Player1 (point to a player) talces one cnrdfroruthepile. (Demonstrateand wait for the student to do this.) Put it faceup 0n thetable.(Demonstrate.) Lookhere.(Point to the gap.) Whntwordis missing? Canyoufinrfif ? (Gestureto the auxiliary verbs spreadout on the table.) (Wait for the student to find it - help them if they havetrouble.)
