ccording to Anthony Bourdain, Filipino foods are the next big thing. FIlipino foods are influenced by many cultures of cooking such as Spanish and Chinese. The picture on the right is a dish called pork adobo. The use of vinegar and soy sauce in this chicken dish is where the spanish influence came in. This pork adobo dish is usually the first dish that non- filipinos eat because it is delicious and not as “foreign.”Other popular dishes are the pancit, palabok, sinigang, menudo, afritada, sisig, and caldereta. Philippines also doesn’t ran out of street food options. One of the more popular ones are their “isaw” or grilled chicken intestines. Isaw could also be make with pork intestines. Filipinos do not shy away from eclectic food. Chicken feet, gizzard, chicken head, wood worms are some of their other more adventurous street food options. hilippine culture is rich. Because Philippines is broken up in many different islands, there are many different cultures that exist from each of those regions. Up north, in Ifugao, you will meet the Igorot people, or the “mountain people” of Luzon, pictured on the left. They are one of the ethnic groups in the Philippines that speak another language aside fromt the main Tagalog language. Filipinos also love to party. And they do it in a grand way- masks, costumes,and what not. Part of their rich culture is the elaborate festivals that take place through out the nation. One of the more popular ones is the MassKara Festival held every fourth sunday of October in Bacolod. Local dancers perform on the streets wearing masked embellished with beads, and flowers. They would also wear feather headpieces, and elaborate costumes. Different dance teams compete with each other each year. The whole event is lively, and fun. It’s definitely a great idea to attend one of these festivals when youre in the Philippines.

he cities in the Philippines are bustling. The crowd is lively, every corner has a food place or business, the city lights are bright. The city always follows the latest trends on food, and new hang out spots pop up each week. The club scene is fun. It is the city to be in. Manila, Makati, and Quezon are the 3 main cities that one should visit in the Philippines. These cities has a lot to offer. The shopping experience in the philippines is also like no other. Your buck could go a long way.

ou will never ran out of things to do in the Philippines. The place offers tons of fun activities, from water activities to hiking. The Philippines is rich with natural beauty and there are several fun hikes that tourist could go on while there. For instance, Mt. Maculot, Mt. Talamitan, and Mt. Pulag are some of the famous hikes that offer breath taking views. While on the beaches, tourist can participate in a myriad of activities. For instance, guided snorkeling, where one can see feed fishes, and see the beautiful coral reefs and underwater life. Parasailing as pictured on the right, is very popular in the Philippines as well. The prices are very reasonable as they start for only $20 per person. Another popular activity in the Philippines is swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu. These whale sharks are friendly and there will be a guide to assist you thoughout the process. Tourists can also zipline through many mountains and forest in the philippines- another popular activity there.
