Adelanto High School Victor Valley Union High School District Estimated Construction Cost: $120,000,000.00 Size: +/- 350,000 SF (Classroom & Office Space) Anticipated Completion Date: Summer of 2012 Adelanto High School located in Adelanto, California was designed to alleviate the overcrowding schools around the city of Victorville. The new campus, which will be located on Mojave Drive between Raccoon Avenue and Joshua Road, will house over two thousand students. These students, who are currently crammed into portables at Silverado and Victor Valley High Schools, will be able to enroll into their hometown. The new school’s 60 acre property will have roughly 350,000 square feet of classroom and office space. It will also include a 450-seat performing arts center, eight outdoor basketball courts, eight outdoor tennis courts, and a 3,500-seat stadium with all-weather rubberized track and synthetic-turf field. Due to its enormous size, the project was divided into two increments. Increment #1 is primarily the site and context such as grading. Increment #2 contained all buildings including the sports field, tennis courts and basketball courts. The project was funded primarily by state funds, and the estimated $120 million construction and planning will be funded through the $500 million bond measure voters approved in November 2008.
