Education


Investigators Investigators is a unique series of leveled nonfiction books, interactive CDs, and instructional materials for young readers. Using science as inquiry, Investigators develops students’ reading, research, and problem-solving skills, while enabling them to build knowledge around a central science theme. Each thematic strand includes a thematic overview book, five nonfiction narratives, a lap book, classroom posters, cross-curricular activity cards, teacher’s notes and an Investigators CD, which reinforces reading comprehension and fluency skills. The easy-to-navigate onscreen books are supported with audio voice-over, video footage, further science information and learning activities.

Students can explore 28 countries around the world and examine the rich, ethnic diversity of other cultures through the six dynamic genre strands of photo-essay, fiction, biography, mathematics, science, and the new issues strand. WorldScapes explores global issues in a thought-provoking yet encouraging way. Each book in the critical literacy strand commences with a “faction” story that sets the scene for the issue being explored in a particular country.
