ABOUT ME

Hello,

My name is Emily Barker, and I am a seasoned graphic designer with three years of experience specializing in crafting designs that contribute to the achievement of companies’ business objectives. Over the course of my three years in the field, I have acquired diverse skills, notably in overseeing the entire print process from inception to completion. Additionally, I have honed my abilities in company branding, becoming adept at designing within established brand standards. I possess a quick learning aptitude, allowing me to familiarize myself swiftly with company-specific design requirements.

I am consistently eager to broaden my skill set and acquire knowledge from fellow designers, seeking continuous improvement in my abilities. Outside of design work, I engage in creative pursuits such as scrapbooking, diamond painting, and cross-stitching, finding joy in artistic endeavors beyond my professional endeavors.

VSTONE FOR VA

YEAR : 2023

SHORT DESCRIPTION

This project was commissioned for the VA, initially intended as a one-pager. However, due to the abundance of information, I made the strategic decision to transform it into two pieces for improved clarity and spacing. The time constraint, receiving the project at the end of the day, showcased my ability to work efficiently under pressure. Despite the tight deadline, I successfully designed and delivered a comprehensive piece that met the requirements and maintained a high standard of quality.

INSTALL USER GUIDE

YEAR : 2023

SHORT DESCRIPTION

This document serves as an installation app user guide for a mobile program, presenting a comprehensive layout that guides users through the step-by-step process of setting up the mobile app. The design incorporates multiple steps, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding. Additionally, it includes strategically placed pop-outs that highlight important information, enhancing the overall user experience and facilitating a smooth installation process.

LOGOS & MARKS 3

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The objective of this project was to rebrand the logo for a well-established local business in town—Cedar Hill, a family-owned enterprise specializing in home and holiday decor. In enhancing their existing logo, I introduced an icon featuring a Cedar branch and opted for a clean and easily legible typeface. The resulting logo strikes a balance between simplicity and sophistication, aligning with the brand’s identity.

INVITATION 4 CHALLENGE

Collaborating with a bride to curate her wedding invitation involves a synergistic process where the bride’s vision and preferences are carefully considered. Through effective communication and shared ideation, we work together to select font styles, graphics, and layout elements that align with the desired theme and atmosphere. This collaborative approach ensures that the final wedding invitation is a personalized and meaningful representation of the bride’s vision for her special day.

SOLUTIONS WEDDING INVITES

My approach to designing invitations typically involves the initial selection of font pairs and flower graphics. Once these elements are chosen, I proceed to work on the layouts. The design process for both invitations entailed multiple proofs, refining and iterating until the final design was approved to ensure a polished and visually appealing outcome.
