The Causes of Gingivitis


Gingivitis is a disease that people of all ages can get, and is most characterised by inflamed, swollen, and red gums that bleed around the teeth when brushing and flossing particularly.

Plaque Buildup Plaque is the sticky substance that coats the surface of the teeth, gums, mouth, and tongue that is from bacteria growing in your mouth.


Medicine Use People who are taking medications that result in a dry mouth need to be particularly careful about their oral health to ensure bacteria doesn’t breed in the mouth.


Infections Certain types of infections in the body may also cause gingivitis, such as oral thrush overgrowth or the herpes virus.
