ank for this Issue? My Personal Thank You

This magazine took a lot of effort from many different people. Here is a list of people that I would personally like to thank: Jen Finstrom--for being the academic advisor for the club. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Nicole Huth--For being my sister and being supportive. Madison Hanna--For also being supportive and excited about my ideas (which gave me the confidence to continue with the club) Josie Stratman--For going into Lake Michigan when it was 60 degrees outside Every single person who contributed photos and articles--this magazine would not have come together if it were not for all of you. The people I asked to contribute whom I don’t know--For coming through and doing me a solid by taking beautiful photos. To the Writers--thank you for writing articles for the website and Instagram even though we did not use the articles for the magazine. The articles are wonderfully written, and I really appreciate your hard work.

A Short Letter from the Editor

To be blunt, 2020 has been a terrible year. DePaul has had 95% online classes, and our campus is basically closed. Fall

2020 was probably not the best time to start a new club, but I started one anyways, and I’m glad that I did. While this magazine is technically a DePaul club, most of the contributors for this issue actually do not go to DePaul; they are people I know from high school. Some are people that I did not (and still do not really) know. They pulled through and helped to make this magazine possible, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Crescent Magazine’s name was inspired by this year and what we hope to accomplish with the magazine. While the first definition, and the one that most people think of, re-

fers to the moon’s phases, Crescent Magazine’s title refers to the definition of growing or increasing. With each issue, the magazine will grow its content, artists, and audience (hopefully). Our magazine can only get better from here haha. We will learn and change for the better.
