DEPAUL IRELAND VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME Dear Potential Volunteer, Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. The role of volunteers in each of our projects is vital to the work we do and we greatly appreciate your interest as well as your desire to contribute to our goals and give some of your free time to us. Please refer to the information about our projects, about volunteering roles within Depaul Ireland, and our web site if you are interested in volunteering with us. You can complete the application form online now at https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=593200469

Just a couple of things to think about when filling in the application form: 3

Education, work, voluntary, or life experience – These sections are just in the application as a way of getting to know you better. Please complete as much or as little as you would like to. Everyone has things to say about what they have done in their life: how they have helped family members of friends through difficult situations, brought up children, the list is endless. This is a space for you to tell us something about yourself so that we can start to get to know you.

3

Please don’t worry if you are not sure which project or role you would like to volunteer in. Once we meet up we can discuss it further.

3

Garda Vetting – Depaul Ireland works with Vulnerable Adults therefore we submit all volunteer details for this vetting. It is for this check that you are asked for additional information such as your National Insurance number etc. A criminal conviction will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a volunteer. We are not so interested in what you were once but what you are now and what you have to offer. (The Garda Vetting form is a separate form).

3

Please read the guidance notes carefully before you complete your application. If you would like to discuss this further then don’t hesitate to contact me.

References – We do require two references from you but we are aware that many people, at certain stages of their life find difficulty in finding two referees; for example retired people, self employed people, unemployed people etc. But if this is a problem for you just let me know and we can help.

So I hope that you don’t mind to take the few minutes to complete the application. Once I have received your form, I will contact you with more information as we seek to fill new vacancies within our volunteer team. Please note that our recruitment rounds are typically held one per season. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards
