DePelchin Children’s Center gratefully receives its support from government grants and fees, United Way agencies, corporations, foundations and individuals. DePelchin is accredited by the Council on Accreditation.


DePelchin Children’s Center strives to provide the highest quality services to its clients. DePelchin Children’s Center is dedicated to measuring how our services affect our clients. Our staff uses that information to improve the quality of treatment throughout our organization. DePelchin uses a traditional performance and quality improvement approach (monitoring and measuring program impact) to ensure that our services and agency operations are performing at the highest level possible. Opportunities for feedback are built into every process so that we can use that feedback to improve all parts of the agency. We want you, our stakeholders, to know the results of our efforts. As stakeholders, you should expect that the organization is dedicated to providing quality, cost-effective care and services. To that end, we are proud to present to you the successes that we have had in providing services to clients in fiscal year 2009.

Program Outcomes Residential Treatment Center

Counseling

69% of children discharged from the Residential Treatment Center remained stable in less restrictive environments after six months.

72% of parents whose child received services for at least 90 days or more reported a decrease in problem behaviors.

79% of children improved their classroom functioning while attending the on-campus University of Texas Charter School. Foster Care

96% of office-based clients who were monitored during 2009 demonstrated progress in meeting behavioral treatment objectives. Home Based Therapy

95% of children served in foster care had two or fewer moves while in care.

78% of youths with moderate impairment at intake showed a clinically meaningful reduction in problem behaviors at discharge as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functioning Scale.

95% of foster parents who attended the PRIDE pre-service training demonstrated competency in knowledge and understanding of foster children’s issues.

92% of parents at a three-month follow-up reported that the family situation had improved after receiving services.

Adoption and Post Adoption 100% of potential adoptive parents demonstrated knowledge and understanding of children’s issues of separation, loss and abuse after taking the PRIDE pre-service training course. 90% of families receiving post adoption services reported that the services helped the family stay together. Parent Education and Family Support Services 95% of parents taking parenting skills classes reported improved relationships with their children. 83% of parents participating in divorce seminars expressed attitudes that promoted healthy parentchild relationships.

Teen Parent Services 85% of pregnant or parenting teens completed their current grade level. 79% of teenage clients demonstrated improved knowledge of reproductive health issues after receiving school-based prevention information. Services to At-Risk Families and Youths 82% of youths who reported using drugs at the beginning of the drug education program reported a decrease in drug usage at the end of the eight-week class. 100% of families served did not experience a removal of children by Child Protective Services.
