A Quiet End (Canada) - Equine ‘A Quiet End’ is the Art Rock project of Neil Helmut Grey, based in Toronto, Canada. 2014 has seen the release of the ‘Lapse/Stutter 7”’ and ‘EP I’. A gorgeous blend of shoegaze, infused with elements of post-punk and post-rock, as well as electronic and progressive alternative music. ‘The Lapse/Stutter 7”’ EP is an exciting and ambitious turning point for the project and the first in a series of EPs, leading up to a full-length album in 2015. Miners (Australia) - Soft Focus Starting as a one man bedroom recording project, Miners has recently expanded into a four-piece band. With a sound that explores the noiser, spacey side of indie rock, Miners’ carry on the legacy of bands like Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Lilys. They have so far shared the stage with the likes of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Day Ravies, Zeahorse and Lowtide. An EP has been recorded and is due out soon. How Scandinavian (USA) - Left Field Cult Film Theme Song This track is from the early years of ‘How Scandinavian’, the goal was an emulation of ‘New Order’. At the time ‘How Scandinavian’ had not really devoted a track to having a real synth backing, making this a very experimental track. Varuna (International) - The First Drops Of Rain Varuna is the ongoing collaborative project of Zach Galkin (Lethargy) and Dan Leader (Qualia). Harnes Kretzer (Germany) - Petrichor Harnes Kretzer is a German based composer and musician focusing on modern classical and ambient compositions. The warm and mellow sound of a very old piano tempted him to explore the possibilities of this acoustic instrument. He taught himself to master and control the richness of the sounds, replayed the sounds on old tape recorders and entangled them with field recordings, noisy children’s toys, drawling synthesizers and squeeking piano stools.
