STOCKHOLMS STADSBIBLIOTEK

SUMMER 2010

For our interiors thesis we revisited an old competition to create and addition plus entrance for Gunnar Asplunds 1930’s Stadsbibilotek. My main focus in this project was in the main reading room that is also the main connection and tribute to the original rotunda.

4.Entry and Main Circulation For this project I also used a material denominator: I used a piped steel tube whose cross section I designed for every aspect of the project. Flashings, Reading Tables, Mobil or not, and movable bookshelves.

MIXED-USE

FALL 2009

CHICAGO, IL

Plan Typ. Residental Level

Project: Creating a mixed use residential in the hearth of Chicago. My approach was to take the circulation out of the program, create an individual tower for it, fill it with daily used spaces like the gym and a grocery store and use bridge to reconnect with the original tower. Since the building is based on the grid, the tower is deformed according to need for the circulation. Plan Ground Level

Columbarium at Woodruff Park SPRING 2009 ATLANTA, GA

Project: Creating both an urban park and cemetery, the Woodruff Columbarium consists of two worlds: The upper world as a resting place for the living, and the lower as a repository for the death. The houses traverse both worlds and serve as the structure that holds up the park.
