Our toughest critics are the people in our quality inspection department. We have one of the most modern test centres in Europe, and our engineers monitor this centrepiece of our production. They test practically everything – from the frame and fork to the crank. Quality controls are carried out throughout the production process. Once assembled, each bike undergoes a 100 % functional check. Everything is done in Germany, by us – from concept and development through to production on site. For some that may be something exceptional. For us it is simply what we do.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. We take this adage to the nth degree: unlike other bike manufacturers, we develop our bicycles ourselves. So we offer bikes in which everything harmonises perfectly, and which ensure consistently perfect riding characteristics coupled with the highest level of innovation. Take the e-bike for instance: we develop the drive systems in-house, individually for each type of bike, and in an appealing design. It is simply a coherent overall concept – right down to the last detail.

The fact that we are constantly reinventing two wheels has helped us become one of the most respected bike manufacturers. The latest examples: our Impulse Evo and the sophisticated shift sensor technology. So not only do we ensure progress, we also stay an idea ahead.

Cycling has a lot to do with relaxation. But you can only relax when everything interacts as smoothly as possible. We offer our customers concepts which ensure exactly that – total comfort. These include ergonomic grips and controls, comfortable saddles and high-quality suspension forks and seatposts. The result: problem-free riding comfort.

THE VARIETY IN DETAIL 1 // SMART DISPLAY The new stylish Impulse Evo Smart compact display, equipped with a Bluetooth module and a USB charger socket, communicates with a smartphone. This means that you can use the Impulse Evo app and convenient navigation is easy. (only the Impulse models).

2 // ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFTS A gentle press on the buttons is enough for a relaxed change of gear. The FAG Velomatic function also offers users the choice of which gear to start in after a stop. (only the Kalkhoff Select i8ES)

3 // LONG RANGE The new iNext batteries have an ample capacity of up to 17.5 Ah, designed for range, providing the necessary energy reserves even for quite extended trips.(only Impulse models)

4 // FULLY AUTOMATIC Lightning fast gear changes – on request, also fully automatic – that is the trade mark of the electronic Shimano Nexus Di2 gears. 5 // SHIMANO STEPS Kalkhoff complements the Shimano STePS system with an sNext battery. The advantages are quite apparent: Apart from the higher capacity of up to 17.5 Ah, the low centre of gravity is also useful thanks to its location behind the seat tube for an exclusive solution.

6 // INTEGRATED CLAMPING MECHANISM Form and function go hand in hand here. The clamp for the seat post is perfectly integrated into the seat tube. The angle of the clamping screw makes it easier to release and fix the seat post.

The newcomer to the high-end mid-range segment: featuring the 足familiar Impulse Evo motor and new 13 or 17.5 Ah batteries, the Impulse Evo Next ensemble satisfies discerning comfort requirements. Just like the top-of-the-range model, its standard features include a display with a Bluetooth interface and USB charging socket, as well as the free navigation app. In addition, the Impulse Evo Next system enables combination with an FAG shifting actuator and therefore electronic switching and a free choice of start-up gear.

The best of both worlds: the electronic drive and gearshift from a 足single source are one benefit of the smoothly coordinated Shimano Steps system. Even fully automatic gear shifting is possible when the system is used in combination with an Alfine Di2 gear hub. A足 nother 足advantage is the exclusive combination with batteries based on Impulse Evo Next technology. With a capacity of 13 or 17.5 Ah, these batteries have a far greater range and offer more balanced weight distribution thanks to their positioning behind the seat tube.
