The campaign, which runs from October through January, mobilizes the community to donate new household items and gift cards to support former foster youth through our two core programs: § My First Home: Provides essentials for youth to transform their first apartment into a comfortable, homey space through donations of furniture, kitchen utensils, linens, cleaning materials, small appliances, lighting, and accessories. § Basic Needs: Provides youth immediate financial assistance with rent money, bus passes, gas cards, interview clothing, vehicle repair, food cards and other urgent needs. The campaign also includes a Celebration Luncheon to honor our youth, volunteers, supporters and sponsors on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley. This sponsorship opportunity is a great way to increase your company’s visibility and recognize our shared commitment to improving our community. A limited number of sponsorships are available. EVENT INFORMATION From October through January, Just in Time for Foster Youth will mobilize the community to raise awareness of critical issues facing youth transitioning from foster care, to solicit financial contributions and physical donations of new household items to replenish our warehouse, as well as much needed gift cards for food, gas, and miscellaneous emergency needs. During the campaign, we honor supporters at our My First Home for the Holidays Celebration Luncheon on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley. All proceeds from the campaign directly benefit transitioning foster youth ages 18-26 who have little or no family support on which to rely.
