Editors Note: For the May cover we chose this location because our cover sponsor; Max the owner of Auger Insurance Group works with them and he suggested the location. What a beautiful place! Many people book this place for their wedding venue because it is absolutely beautiful and it offers so many additional amenities that really make their special day one to remember for not only the happy couple, but their guests as well. Photos do not do this place justice. If you plan on getting hitched and would like a county farm like wedding you really should check this place out, but do it well in advance because they book up quickly. While you are in Bancroft be sure to stop by the biker and family friendly Woody’s Bancroft Tavern for a cold beer and really great food!
Stone House Farm was originated in 2017 by owners Matt and Julia Smith. The farm was homesteaded in 1848 by William and Laura Warren where it was used to raise award winning Belgian horses, and world class Holstein cattle. The farm sits on a beautiful 165 acres of forest, farm land, and wetlands.
The farm encompasses the rich history, and charm of country living. The house was constructed with large field stone and is included in the weekend rental package. This 4-bedroom, 2.5- bath home is perfect for gathering with friends and family and preparing for your big day. A groom prepping area is available in basement of house with a separate exit to ensure privacy and discretion.
Whether your taste is rustic and vintage, or elegant and chic this barn can encompass both styles. The flexibility to choose the perfect ceremony spot indoors or outdoors is an added feature.
This farm’s unique history and stunning setting will have your guests wowed from the minute they arrive to the property.

Multi-line Insurance Agent HOME w LIFE w AUTO
Hello, my name is Max Auger. I’m married with 2 children: a 6year-old daughter and 4 year-old son. I’m a Marine Corps veteran with a background in automotive finance and mortgages prior to becoming an agency owner with Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. The biggest reason for my change in career was to spend more time with my children. I was working 70 hours a week in the car business and felt like I was a stranger to my own kids. I had to make a change; I wanted to be there more, to be able to sit down and have a dinner with my family, versus coming home at 9 or 10 at night just to kiss the kids goodnight. Although I’ve been successful in every job, all that success was at a cost to my family because of the hours required to make a good income. I needed a change. I needed to have a career in which I could work from home more and help my wife with our children. I started at Farm Bureau as a solicitor’s agent in November 2018. I worked under a local agent while building my book of business. This career isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ve got to be able to handle the ups and downs (and rejections) while working in this business. I started my own Agency June 1st of 2020 and have excelled to be a top producer amongst new agents with Farm Bureau. My business was built with help from my friends and family and I couldn’t have made it this far without them! The absolute biggest supporter in my business and in my life is my wife of 10 years, Angela Auger. She is not only the best wife a guy can ask for, but the most amazing mother to our children. Without her support this career could never have had the success it’s had. They say behind every successful man is a strong woman; this is only partly true, she has to be strong, but more importantly she is by my side, not behind me. Thank you Angela! I am a Multi-Line Insurance Agent. My agency specializes in Home, Auto, Commercial, and Life Insurance Policies. We have a fully-staffed office ready to care of your needs in all things insurance. Whether you need better coverage or lower rates on your home and auto or commercial and life insurance- I can help. Please feel free to call my office. I am eager to help and I assure you I will work hard to earn your business! Thank you! About the Photographer
