Since I turned 60 this year I have lived through many riding fads over the years from the rat bikes to choppers to the billet queens and more. One constant thing that has prevailed as long as there has been two wheelers are the adventurous ladies who dare to ride their own bikes. And I, for one, have always admired that. It has not always been that way. I remember a time when many men just plain did not care to see women riding bikes. Now you might see almost as many riding as men. And they are usually more careful too :)

Two things I have always enjoyed on a bike since I began riding in 1976. The freedom it gives me with the wind in my hair and my knees in the breeze. Second was the women pushing the envelope to enjoy that same freedom in control of their own bike or on the back of one too. Lets face it. Riding just wouldn’t be the same without the females around.

So I want to share a different sort of Flashback with y’all this month. Here is a collection of vintage photos of ladies from the early days of riding up into them crazy chopper days of the 1970s and beyond for you to enjoy.

Spring is almost here and you know what that means? Time get your bikes serviced, check your tires, and make plans to attend some events coming up. And it also means women won’t be wearing near as many clothes :)
