MOTORCYCLE MINISTRIES
All things Green…
Green has always been a symbol of all things new and fresh. Green grass in the Spring, budding trees, flower shoots coming up through the cold ground of Winter’s chill. However, there’s another symbol that green stands for…GO!
I’ve talked about going before, yet this time, it’s a bit different. Ever notice that we are always on the go. We can’t seem to sit still at all and if we do have a moment that we are sitting still, we are thinking about going! Why is that? Really the question should be ‘What is that?’ What is it that is driving us to have to move and go? Why is it that we cannot be still?
You know the Bible says, ‘Be still and know that I am God.’ Psalm 46:10 in case you want to look it up. He wants us to be still even when we are moving. Why? So that in the stillness of His presence we can find strength. A person who is reliant on their own strength to maintain and get through life will eventually hit a wall that cannot be penetrated. No matter how much you try, or how much you deny, you will always need a strength that comes from somewhere other than yourself. It’s how we were created. It’s how we roll. It’s how our Heavenly Father called it to be. Why? What makes Him so special that we need to rely on His strength to make it through, you may ask. My granddaughter, all of 11 years old said that she felt God was a bit narcissistic in His behavior. That it’s all about Him and why should that be so? There’s a simple answer for that….without Him, we wouldn’t even be. There was a lot more discussion that ensued, but I think you get the picture.
The point is, don’t get so far ahead in yourself that you forget to be still long enough for God to direct you the way He has planned out for you to go. I have said it before…He does have a plan. You just need to open your heart and eyes and sit still long enough for Him to speak with you about it. Once you get it… believe me, you will be on the GO! You won’t be able to hold back! Go can stand for so many things.
Get Out! Get Over! Go On! Great One! Groovin’ On! Gifted One! Good One! Go Over! Grand Opening! But for me it stands for God Opens… Doors. Be still for a moment this month. Take time to listen for His voice. He really does want to talk to you.
And while you are out and about, watch out for the Leprechaun in the grass….he’s looking for Gold Only…probably yours!
