How can singing help bring communities together and contribute to a sense of identity? This year’s symposium will introduce findings from the Song Seeking Project, funded by Creative Ireland under the National Creativity Fund. It involved the creation of six intergenerational singing groups, working with choral facilitators and a composer, and was a cross-agency collaboration between Mary Immaculate College, Sing Ireland and the Irish Refugee Council. The presenters will include Dermot O’Callaghan, Sing Ireland, and Dónal Kearney, Fingal Academy of Music, both of whom were directly involved in the project.
