Visit the stands in the festival marquee to try and buy some authentic “LegenDerry’’ dishes. Check out the blackboard specials at the cooking stands priced from £2 - £6. The LegenDerry Food Fest is a three day food and family entertainment festival. With themes from ‘plot to plate’ and ‘catch and cook’ it celebrates local food with celebrity chefs and live cookery demos. Featuring the Boulevard of Chefs and Theatre of Food with celebrity chefs Rachel Allen, Neven Maguire, Ian Orr, Brian McDermott and Paula McIntyre alongside some of the city’s leading restaurants. The LegenDerry Food Fair in the Guildhall will profile 20 local suppliers. From Beef and Bakery to Dairy and Game this is LegenDerry Food at its best. There are also musical performances with Susan Donaghy and Ursla & Co. Also enjoy Children’s Activities, Talks, Masterclasses and much more.

Marquee Chefs in our Celebrity Theatre of Food Rachel Allen. Celebrity Chef Rachel has appeared on BBC 1, BBC 2, UKTV, and RTE. Rachel’s books have been launched in the US and her series Rachel’s Favourite Food at Home has debuted in America. Rachel is a frequent guest on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen, is one of the lead presenters on UKTV’s and BBC 2’s Market Kitchen. Ian Orr was awarded Chef of the Year Ireland 2013

by Georgina Campbell and is Owner and Head Chef at Browns Restaurant. He represented Northern Ireland on BBC’s Great British Menu. Thanks to Ian, Browns has a fantastic reputation and has won the “Best Restaurant in Ulster” at the Irish Restaurant Awards.

Brian McDermott. Community chef Brian McDermott, also known to many as “the no salt chef” is a resident chef on RTE Television’s Today Show, Brian has his own weekly cookery slot on BBC Radio and is a regular contributor to many Irish press titles. Paula McIntyre. Paula is resident chef on BBC

Radio Ulster. Paula is responsible for delivering regular recipe spots. In doing so she does a fine job in introducing a wide range of culinary skills to members of the public.

Open House with Marty Whelan and Mary Kennedy. His fourth series of Neven Maguire: Home Chef is currently airing on RTE on Wednesday nights and broke cookery show viewing records with over 480,000 people tuning in. 4

More to Savour!

Meet the stilted Cake Ladies, these human tables will serve you up a visual and gastronomic feast of charm and confectionery. Our Juggling chef will entertain the crowds. The Loughs Agency will be there with their Oyster Bar. Other characters including the Singing Chef and the Candy Girls who will bring an air of sophistication to the event. Live music from Ursula and Co. and Susan Donaghy. There will be lots to entertain younger visitors with face painting, children’s crafts and balloon modeling. The

Ebrington Plaza will be transformed into a Magical Storytelling Garden, 12pm – 5pm daily. There will be live music in the Trad Triangle from the 15th – 17th March. The main St Patrick’s Day Spring Parade will be taking place on the 17th March at 2.30pm.
