Welcome to the Land of the Little People This year’s Spring Carnival theme, the Land of the Little People, will be revealed in spectacular style on Thursday, March 17th, when Pixies, Elves and Fairies lead the festivities with street carnivals, live music, animation and enchantment for all ages. Glaston-fairy here we come!
Once in every hundred years, as Spring rainbows greet the Foy le, A gentle tremor can be heard, from just above the soil… The Elders of the Little Folk, from lands near and far away, Lead little feet to a hippy beat to join Spring Carnival day. Tiny voices united, in protest and in song, As the party of the Century, Glaston-fairy has begun! They’re all here at our carnival, Pixies, Elves, Nymphs, and Giants too. Now, all that they are waiting for is a little me and you! North West Carnival Initiative, In Your Space, Greater Shantallow Community Arts, Bluebell Arts Project together with a host of community, arts and performance groups from throughout the city and beyond will come together in a magical showpiece street celebration.

Colourful costumes, fabulous floats, classic cars, music, singing and dancing will all feature in the 11th annual Strabane celebration event organised by Strabane St Patrick’s Day Committee. Led by honorary grand marshal, Pat Gillespie, now in his 99th year, the parade route starts from St Mary’s Church, Melmount Road at 2pm, making its way onto Bridge Street and Market Street through Abercorn Square and Railway Street, finishing at the Score site in Dock Street around 3.30pm - 4pm. Enjoy music on the main stage in Market Street with Strabane Radio Online Roadshow and a showcase of local talent from 1.30pm.
