The La Paz Regional Tourism Team Late in 2011, leaders within the La Paz area partnered with APS Corporation embarking on a challenging project to develop a regional economic development plan: Focused Future II. One of the four key strategies was to link all Chambers of Commerce and C.R.I.T for joint promotion, networking and regional Tourism marketing - and so was born the La Paz Regional Tourism Team. Welcome to the 2018/2019

Passport to Adventure. How many of you have noticed a billboard sign advertising the Arizona Outback as you are leaving Parker? The sign has been there for the last twenty years, and needed updating. The La Paz Regional Tourism Team, a committee of the La Paz Economic Developement Corporation who produce and distribute the La Paz County Passport to Adventure, made inquiries as to who owned the sign to see if it could be refurbished. The La Paz Regional Tourism Group received permission from the owners to update and repair the sign. After a successful application for grant funding, a new sign was erected in July 2018. The next time you are leaving Parker take a look and know that you are headed into our ‘Arizona Outback’. It’s on the southeast corner of West 21st St and South California Avenue.

“Take a bow La Paz Regional Tourism Team!!!! This is a wesome for our County!” - Holly Anderson-Irwin La Paz County Board of Supervisors

The unincorporated and historic community of Bouse, located approximately 27 miles from the Arizona/California border on Highway 72, began as an 1860 mining town of prospectors’ tents and their dreams of copper and gold. In 1942 during WWII, Bouse was home to a top secret military base. Bouse is now a popular retirement area and winter spot for northern visitors wishing to escape the harsh, cold winters.

Mountain Quail Cafe’ is a local favorite, dining in a comfortable atmosphere, with friendly service, and quality home-style meals. The Mountain Quail Cafe’ began in 1994 as a clubhouse for Mt. Quail Mobile Home and RV Park owned by Robert (Whitey) and Beverley Johnson. They transformed it into the current cafe’. In 2000, it was sold to Laura and Giuseppe Caspera. In April 2009, current owner Norm Simpson, purchased the property and began upgrades seen today. In 2011, Norm formed an association with local artists and together started the Southwest Roundup Art Show, which is held annually in the park’s clubhouse. During the year, artists display their work, no fee, on restaurant’s walls. The artists donate a portion of all sales to area non profits, such as Friends of Quartzsite Food Bank, Isaiah 57 Project, Celia’s Garden, and others.
