Palm Springs, CA Desert Ensemble Theatre (DET) will present Future Thinking by Eliza Clark. The play focuses on middle-aged super fan Peter, who finds himself in a makeshift interrogation room at the mercy of Comic-Con security after violating the restraining order placed against him by his favorite television starlet. Meanwhile, spoiled starlet Chiara is holed up in a hotel suite with her stage mom and bodyguard, trapped by the demands of being a rising star. Peter is determined to fulfill his destiny: a meeting with the twenty-three-yearold where he can deliver her an important and mysterious message. All Chiara wants is her mom and her bodyguard
DET is pleased to present this play by LA-based playwright Eliza Clark. Future Thinking was featured on The Kilroy’s’ List (a list of excellent new plays written by women, trans and non-binary playwrights) and was commissioned and produced by South Coast Repertory in the spring of 2016.

Future Thinking is directed by Richard Marlow, who had his acting debut with DET this season in Do Not Remove Label. The cast features Clare Merritt (All This Intimacy), Alexana Thomas (The Beebo Brinker Chronicles), Raul Valenzuela (All This Intimacy), Nick Edwards (DET Debut) and Andrew Weiss (DET Debut).
Future Thinking will run for two weekends, April 14-16 and 21-23, with performances Fridays at 7:30, Saturdays at 2:00 and 7:30, and Sundays at 2:00. Tickets are $35 and are on sale now.
