PROJECTO IMAGEM E OLFACÇÃO
Confrontamos 4 artistas fotógrafos, com as suas memórias olfactivas. Desconhecidos entre eles, com sensibilidades estéticas e experiências de vida distintas, viajamos com eles, através de diferentes odores, aromas e fragrâncias. Queríamos que, cheirassem, sentissem e ganhassem consciência do sentido que muito naturalmente possuem, mas que provavelmente muito pouco tinham utilizado, no processo criativo. Desafiámos um regresso ao passado, e a captura desse momento! Provocámos esse momento ideiastésico, com o cruzamento de conteúdo semântico, obtido através da experiência de vida de cada um, com um activador de memória olfactiva, contido dentro de um contentor de 5ml, em forma de fragrância! O resultado foi imediato. A viagem tinha começado. Sem nenhum tipo de condicionante, ou constrangimento. Só seria necessário expressa-la, através da forma que melhor sabiam: A fotografia não editada! Estávamos conscientes que do ponto de vista da experiência real, a representação visual de cheiros, tanto nas artes plásticas como em descrições literárias, nada tem a ver com a arte olfactiva, mas apenas com o seu significado e com a sugestão de ambientes e atmosferas. Sabíamos que um trabalho de arte olfactiva tem de ser realmente sentido e cheirado. O objectivo é uma experiência sensorial mais intensa. Da visão ao olfacto: Da olfacção à Imagem. Como tal, optamos por uma instalação sinestésica, onde as imagens são expostas lado a lado com os aromas que lhes deram origem. 16 Fotografias:4 Artistas, 4 Aromas, 4 Imagens. Numa Galeria, completa de memória artística e que ela própria apela a todos os sentidos, situada em plena zona histórica do Porto e com uma vista privilegiada sobre os Jardins das Virtudes e o Douro, estará patente ao público de 29 de Janeiro a 27 de Fevereiro.

A City on Fire___Imaginary Authors Cai no abismo. As tonturas prolongaram-se durante vários dias. É estranho pois evidencia algo de belo, mas que o meu corpo recusou. I fell in the deep. Dizziness lasted for several days. It’s weird because it reveals something beautiful but my body rejected.
Meo Fusciuni___Notturno Foi o deleite, dormi sossegada envolta por um odor aprazĂvel e suspensa por uma teia subtil ergui-me levemente como uma folha. Was the delight, I sleep peaceful surrounded by a pleasant odor and suspended by a subtle warp I raised myself gently as a leaf.
O Natural___In-House Smound A fragrância natural remeteu-me para um universo interior, que tenta evidenciar a singularidade inefåvel desta planta. The natural fragrance refers to an interior universe, trying to highlight the ineffable uniqueness of this plant.
O Sintético____In-House Smound/Lijoca Na cortina de chumbo entreaberta, contemplo uma orla de petróleo, que cai e dá cor à frequência inconstante do teu odor. In ajar lead curtain, contemplate an oil rim, falling and gives color to the shifting frequency of your odor.
IMAGE AND OLFACTION PROJECT
We confront four artists photographers, with their own olfactory memories. Unknown to each other, with different aesthetic sensibilities and life experiences, we travel with them through different odors, aromas and fragrances. We wanted, that they smelled, felt and gained consciousness of the sense that quite naturally have, but probably very little had used consciously, in the creative process. We challenged a return to the past, and the capture of that moment! We tease this ideasthesic moment with the intersection of semantic content, got through the experience of a lifetime, with an activator of olfactory memory, enclosed within a 5ml container in the form of a fragrance! The result was immediate. The journey had begun. Without any condition, or embarrassment. It would only be necessary to express it through the way that they knew best: The photography, unedited! We were aware that from the point of view of real experience, the visual representation of scents, both in art and in literary descriptions, has nothing to do with olfactory art, but only with the meaning and with the suggestion of environments and atmospheres . We knew that an olfactory art work has to be really felt and smelled. Our goal is a more intense sensorial experience. From sight to the olfactory sense: from the olfaction to the Image. As such, we chose a synesthesic installation, where the images are displayed side by side with the scents, which gave rise to them. 16 Photos: 4 Artists, 4 Aromas, 4 images. In a gallery, full of artistic memories, and that itself appeals to all the senses, located in heart of the historical area of Porto, and with a superb view over the Jardins das Virtudes and the Douro, will be open to the public from January 29 until February 27.

Sara de Pinho nasce no Porto e com ela cresce a vontade de criar um olhar sobre a sua cidade. Assim, Sara entrega-se a esta tarefa de corpo e alma. Nos seus cenários, os pormenores são realçados. Elege a paleta monocromática. No seu processo fotográfico segue as premissas da captação do fugaz, congelando algo de belo e de singular. Longe do olhar comum, o indesejado e o menos óbvio é registado. A sua pegada em terra firme é desenhada pela luz perfumada por quatro odores efémeros. Que se fizeram sentir na sua viagem interior.
Sara de Pinho was born in Oporto with a desire to create her own personal view of her home town. Sara devotes herself to work with body and soul. Her imagery is filled with highlighted details. She elects a monochromatic palette. The photographic process strives to capture the ephemeral, crystallizing the Beautiful and Unique. Far from the common eye, it is rather the Unwanted and less obvious that is registered. She leaves a footprint on solid ground, drawn by a fragrant light of four ephemeral odors which are part of her inner journey.
