THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF METRO DENVER
Get involved. Change a life.
We are looking for volunteer buddies to assist with baseball games. Can you help?
Miracle League of Metro Denver is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in metro Denver that provides children and adults, who are living with various mental and/or physical challenges, an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. The league was founded in 2006 as Sports Made Possible. In 2017 we affiliated with The Miracle League, a nationwide adaptive baseball league, and renamed to Miracle League of Metro Denver. Our baseball games are played at Schaefer Athletic Complex on a field with a rubberized surface – the only of its kind in Colorado – which makes getting around easy for wheelchair or visually impaired participants. The Miracle League of Metro Denver Competitive League provides an opportunity for participants to play the great game of baseball more independently than the recreational league. The goal of the league is to teach the players the fundamentals of baseball and place them in positions that will allow them to play baseball to his/her fullest potential. A modified scoring system help create a more competitive feel but ensures that each player can be a contributor to the team’s success. The philosophy of the league is that everyone bats, everyone scores and everyone wins in a non-competitive atmosphere.
Become a buddy.
We pair up each player participant with a volunteer buddy. Athletes play up to their abilities and may hit off a tee or from a pitcher. Volunteer buddies are instructed to help players bat, run bases, and play catch in the field. They also engage and encourage players to have fun in a positive environment.

CPRA Agency Members: It’s time to plan ahead for the upcoming 2024 editions of Colorado Byline magazine. We want to feature your agency! Get featured in Byline and add being published in your state professional magazine to your resume!
Have something to share? Here's how: 1. Get Included in the NEW Keeping Up Section Keeping Up is a regular feature to highlight CPRA agency and member updates. This is a great place to submit articles about a special event, project, staff update, or retirement. Articles can be as short as one sentence or up to 300 words and can include a photo.
• Marketing & Communications – Website accessibility, social media, best practices, promotion, getting free press, handling crisis situations and de-escalation, creating selfie spots • Award-winning CPRA agency projects
Spring 2024 Deadline: April 5, 2024 • What’s Trending? Unique park, facility and programming ideas from around the state and around country • Programming in Small Communities - small town issues and solutions, staffing, keeping a community vibrant, grants for kids to be in sports • Community Collaboration and Partnerships Neurosensory programming (TR); sustainability of environment and programming (leave no trace), accessibility for trails
2. Submit a Feature Article We welcome article submissions from CPRA park and recreation agencies about topics relevant to our mission. Articles should be between 350-500 words and include 3-4 high-resolution photos. Suggested themes can be seen at right.
3. Send Article Leads/Ideas If you don’t have the bandwidth to submit an article but have an idea for an article that would fit one of our issue topics, please share it with us! Send a brief explanation of the article and who to contact for more details. We will do the leg-work to research and write the article for you whenever possible.
