Children’s Grief Connection Update By Jessica Moujouros, Children’s Grief Connection Children’s Grief Connection has much to celebrate in 2021! We are happy to announce that this year, Children’s Grief Connection is celebrating our 20th year of providing hope and healing to grieving families! Our estimates show that, over the years, we’ve been able to serve over 3,000 grieving people and we owe an incredible debt of gratitude to you, the members of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the inception of CGC and the impact we have been able to make on grieving families with your help. Although we faced many challenges this last year, we are proud to say that we were able to safely serve grieving families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Providing support to grieving families during what was arguably one of the most isolating experiences of our lifetime was an honor and a privilege. We were able to adapt our 3-day Hearts of Hope Family Grief Camp into a single day program with COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Camp was shorter, but no less impactful. At both our fall camp in Hudson,WI and our Spring camp in Annandale, MN, we met our families with acceptance and offered them connections and tools to help them in their grieving. We are planning to return to our 3 day camp this fall as long as we are safely allowed to do so. As many of you know, we were able to adapt our Frunge fundraiser to a
virtual event. A huge thanks to all of you who were holy bucketed, hosed down, and ‘snowmanned’ in the name of providing support to grieving families.
