Summerville Butterfly Wing Display

When the pandemic first started we built a life size butterfly wing display that was installed in one of our parks. Everything was done 100 percent in house as a collaboration between the Parks staff and the Special Events Coordinator. We created the wings and then painted and sealed them. It was installed in one of our parks as a covid safe attraction for the community!

Charleston Easter Eggstravaganza

Spartanburg Parks Peeps

Since the annual Easter Egg Scramble was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, Spartanburg County Parks found a way to bring the Easter fun to the people… literally! Families purchased eggs and then our “Parks Peeps” crews hid them in their front yards. We delivered and hid 400 dozen eggs! Our annual Easter Eggstravaganza couldn’t happen this year due to COVID-19, so we met our communities where they were at with a variety of programs at their convenience and comfort levels. One program was Easter Eggs-ercise, where the Easter bunny visited local parks to participate in fitness activities such as a sack race, spoon egg race, jumping agility stations and more!
