1.3 Community Engagement

1.3.1 STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

The project kicked off with one-on-one discussions between the project team and community stakeholders including Public Art Commission. These discussions formed the basis of the project team’s understanding of the City and of efforts to revitalize Mount Dora.

1.3.2 SITE VISITS & COORDINATION

The project team conducted a tour of the community as well as follow up visits to collect information and ideas. The project team also coordinated with the staff steering committee bi-weekly. 1.3.3 SURVEY

A community survey was launched in order to help the project team understand the communities ideas and desires. There was a large response to the survey with over 100 responses from all corners of the community.

The results of the survey revealed that community members love the unique small town historic charm of Mount Dora. They want a vibrant future where public art celebrates the past, present, and future of the community.
