Aiming to acknowledge the importance of craft in today’s culture and recognise artisans whose talent, vision and will to innovate will set a standard for the future; LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson conceived the initiative inspired by LOEWE’s beginnings as a craft cooperative in 1846.

Featuring the nominees of the 2018 edition, this exhibition sought to reflect the merits of modern craftsmanship. The imagination, diversity, and techniques on display attested to the crucial role artisans have in the ongoing construction of cultural heritage.

The Helene and Johannes Huth Gallery was completely transformed to host a stunning exhibition, with a series of displays to accentuate the forms and craftsmanship in the exhibiting pieces. Guests were encouraged to meander around the pieces, guided by individual audio sets that revealed additional content and background knowledge.

Global Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO hosted an experiential brand event at Somerset House during London Fashion Week 2019. Entitled ‘The Art and Science of LifeWear: New Form Follows Function’, the large-scale immersive, experiential event needed to showcase the brand’s LifeWear philosophy from three perspectives: art, science and craftsmanship. Key messaging needed to focus on UNIQLO’s innovation, quality, value and sustainability.

Bringing to life the vision of design consultancy Pentagram, Event Concept delivered expert event management, technical production, and intricate scenic construction and build. Six zones were created to showcase the UNIQLO brand, including an introduction area with films and infographics via a videowall; large scale art pieces made of UNIQLO garments and installations such as the HeatTech room designed by Japanese agency Rhizomatiks.

Visitors could attend the exhibition for free in The Embankment Galleries at Somerset House and, to mark London Fashion Week, the exhibition provided exclusive access to purchase items from a new UNIQLO collection. The collection was a collaboration in partnership with Londonbased online radio station NTS, which also hosted two latenight events as part of the experience.

Taking over the unique urban venue Studio Spaces in East London, our team created a multi-disciplinary Mattel experience, where stylized daytime conference spaces for showcasing new products and brand initiatives were fused with an all out, Barbie fun-filled evening celebration.

Proving that business doesn’t need to be boring, we transformed both daytime and evening spaces alike with an explosion of glitter and vibrant hues with bright neon lights, block colour and metallics. The latest Barbie fashion line were showcased by a youth dance troupe performance, after which guests were invited to play at a grown up Barbie fairground complete with prize filled retro arcade games and Barbie’s own car !

Europe’s highest public garden, 42 Fenchurch’s Sky Garden, was chosen to launch a fragrance which brings together ‘the vitality of the city and the force of nature’. Working with Polar Black Events, we brought to life their creative vision through bespoke scenic construction, technical production and floral styling.

To follow its message of authenticity and as part of becoming a more sustainable brand, Man Wood Essence marks Bulgari’s commitment to reduce its environmental footprint. The perfume bottle — shaped like a modern skyscraper — is made from 90 percent recycled glass. Guests on the evening included actor Will Peltz, South Korean rapper Jun Jae Won and Lady Kitty Spencer.

Overlooking the city, guests were invited to disconnect from Urban life. We built a maze of foliage and varying pods which created a sensual journey, including an infinity room, an interactive step and repeat and LED walls. Floral styling focused on key ingredients such as citrus fruits and cedarwood and our technical specialists created a dynamic laser display for an evening after party.
