What do you mean, we?

Reflections is a collection of paintings capturing the contemplative, soothing dimensions of tranquil waterways. The luminous, rhythmic patterns of the reflections on the water are one of the key elements of these paintings. Grant’s works are highly sought after and held in many collections both nationally and internationally.

Poi and Hau will introduce you to the moving and colourful world of the Poi. There are two sessions:

A selection of international artists examine prejudice in its various forms. Featuring a range of innovative strategies from psychoanalysis to silent protest and voluntary homelessness. Works in the exhibition attempt to reveal, disrupt, deconstruct or even transcend discrimination.

As Time Goes By / Crossings Festival

War & Peace / Crossings Festival

Stabat Mater / Crossings Festival

A touching and humorous reflection on growing older. The script, devised by well-known Howick actor and director, Laurie Mills, is presented by the Howick Little Theatre. A journey of poems, prose and song to remind us of life, of what was, and what is, and what will be As Time Goes By.

Superbly blended vocal sextet, Calico Jam, presents a thought-provoking programme, War and Peace. You will hear a rich variety of music from the 16th - 21st centuries enhanced by readings, both arresting and poignant.

Pergolesi’s famous Stabat Mater was composed in Italy in the early 18th century, but its drama and operatic fervour have ensured its enduring popularity. Its 12 short sections meditate on the heartrending events of the Crucifixion of Christ. Solo singers Katharine Watts and Mary Newman-Pound combine with string ensemble and small chorus.
