Winter
in the City
WINTER EVENTS 2013 November to January ART AND EXHIBITIONS FAMILY MUSIC SPECIAL EVENTS THEATRE WALKS AND TALKS
The nights are drawing in and the weather is turning colder. In the City that means it’s time for some of the most exciting events of the year. Here’s a bumper programme of festive celebrations to light up your nights and warm your cockles.
This season’s highlight is the Lord Mayor’s Show (p19) – always a great day out for the whole family, and this year seeing the return of a grand fireworks display to cap the day off with a bang. The Show is the world’s longest unrehearsed pageant – at three miles long, it takes an hour for it to pass by – and remains as popular as ever. Make sure you go early, grab a good spot and see the new Lord Mayor take office. And, of course, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a host of festive events, fun days out, great shopping and wonderful family activities.
The information in this leaflet has been researched and compiled in good faith and checked as thoroughly as possible with the relevant sources. It is correct to the best of the publisher’s knowledge at the time of printing (November 2013) and the publisher cannot accept any liability for errors and omissions howsoever caused. No payment was either solicited or received for inclusion of entries (with the exception of the back page advertisement) and it does not claim to be fully comprehensive.

Check out the Christmas in the City campaign (centre pages) to see why the City is a great place for shopping and more. From festive markets and hassle-free high streets to seasonal ice rinks and special exhibitions, Christmas in the City has all the best ideas on where to find the perfect present (and how to have fun doing it).
