Uncharted territory is one of my favorite parts about learning; I do my best work when I am given projects beyond my current skill-sets. I am always willing to challenge myself and expand my definition of what excellent design is, and how to continuously be more creative.
I have had the opportunity to do many freelance projects for real-life clients throughout college, and it has helped me learn a lot about budgets, deadlines, and understanding client needs. I believe it is important to not only meet the client’s visual expectations, but also be mindful of their budget and timeline as well.

01. NORTHSTAR AIRLINES In my digital advertising class, we were to make a creative brief for an airline named NorthStar that would service the United States and Canada. After refining this brief, we had to create an extensive brand identity to fulfill the needs of the company’s brief. This included several deliverables, all displayed in a 44-page brand identity booklet. With content such as mockups, advertisements, websites and applications, each piece had to highlight the airline’s unique selling points. This has been my most challenging yet favorite project I have completed throughout my college career, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 02. TRAVELING TLC This project was something I designed after completing a project involving service with some of my Honors College friends. We had a day off of school and thought it would be fun to create and distribute care packages to the homeless throughout Phoenix. I created a video of our experiences and posted it to Facebook, and we were taken by surprise when it resulted in already having over 10,000 views the following day. Although this video was not through an official organization, I began to wonder if it were a nonprofit, what would it look like? What would it stand for and how would it present itself? 03. NICE ICE FOOD TRUCK Nice Ice is a food truck that aims to connect with their customers through their love of travel and architecture. For every city visited, they customize their menu by taking inspiration from the culture and atmosphere of their surroundings. For my Design Agency II class, we were instructed to create a brand identity and design collateral that would showcase this company’s outgoing and adventurous persona. 04. KRATE SHIPPING In my Web Design II class, we were instructed to brand and execute the concept of KR8. KR8 (pronounced as crate) is a sharing economy web application that connects users who have transportation space or shipping services with people who could use it. This app can be used to find and/or provide any form of shipping transportation. For example, if a college student needs to move their furniture from one apartment to another, they are able to use KR8 to find and rent a user’s truck for an affordable price. The logo, branding, and web application for this project had to be simple and timeless, yet modern and engaging. It had to be consistenly distinctive yet have a clean theme to match the easy-to-use user flow of the application. 05. SAM’S SWEET CHILI SAUCE In my Design Studio II class we were assigned a weeklong project to design the packaging for Sam’s Sweet Chili Sauce. This sauce is an all-American, organic and flavorful product that would come in three flavors: Medium Hot, Sweet & Mild, and Super Spicy. Our task was to not only accurately reflect all of this information, but make a product design that sparks curiosity and stands out on crowded shelves.
