The project’s goal is to redesign King Edward’s School, located in Bath, Somerset. In the form of a wellness centre and a cookery school, the project aims to provide a space for millennials and young people to better their mental and physical well-being. The project aims to foster a sense of community to help people form new friendships and relationships in order to combat social issues that have arisen as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as to ensure that learning skills that people were forced to adopt and relearn during lockdowns are not forgotten.

Located in the River Avon Valley, the city of Bath is situated within the county of Somerset and is where some of Britain’s most notable events took place, including the creation of the famous Roman baths. Filled with stunning Georgian architecture, the city is often regarded on of the most prestigious and picturesque in the U.K.
Bordering the Cotswolds, Bath has excellent transit links and is only a short 15-minute drive from Bristol. Serviced by an airport and well-established bus links, Bath is easily accessible by road and air, similarly, the city is easily accessed by foot and bike with multiple pedestrian and cycle lanes running throughout the city.

As users go through the building, their mental health and wellness will improve with each floor having a distinct function. The users’ objectives are to rejuvenate, connect with others and environment, and heal themselves. Each room will be uniquely designed to satisfy the needs of it’s occupants using sustainable materials and biophilic design components to connect with nature.

ENTRANCE - Since the entrance is the first place guests are greeted upon arrival, it should be serene, cosy, and welcoming. A wonderful connection can be made between colours historically used in Georgian homes and colours that improve mental health by combining neutral colours with light and dark shades of blue.
COOKERY SCHOOL - The space is opened completely to make use of the tall ceilings, large georgian arched windows and natural light that enters the space. In order to maintain the general atmosphere of the building and preserve its heritage, the parallel walls have a watercolour design mural to establish linkages with water and nature. This is a contemporary interpretation of large georgian murals.
CAFE - Those who have taken cooking classes will use the restaurant to interact with one another, make new acquaintances, and share their culinary masterpieces with friends and family as well as one another. In order to create a calm atmosphere and a cosy dining experience, this area should be chic and sophisticated with biophilic and natural components.
SPA TREATMENT ROOMS - Users must feel at ease and tranquil in the spa treatment areas. The use of large murals brings a contemporary twist to classic Georgian interior design while also establishing linkages with the other rooms. The clean appearance of minimalist lighting contrasts with the dark wood flooring.
FITNESS SUITE - Because the fitness suite is small, it’s crucial to get all the required exercise equipment within without overcrowding it. Simple strip lighting is employed to highlight the height of the ceiling while dark timber flooring establishes connections to Georgian style. Large mirrors give the appearance of a larger area, which enhances the amount of natural light that enters the building.
YOGA STUDIO - To make the spaces feel cohesive and like they belong together, the yoga studio must keep the same aesthetic as the fitness centre. Shades of blue are utilised to evoke emotions and feelings of calmness as well as associations to nature and water in order to help increase mental wellbeing in mind.
APARTMENTS - Two flats are available in the building for those who like to remain for a longer period of time and utilise all of the amenities available rather than just stopping by for a day. Dark blues, light grey, and white walls with an exposed brick look combine to create a minimalist environment that is both calming and makes the most of the natural light coming in through the wide Georgian windows.
STAFF RELAXATION ROOM - During breaks, employees might interact or unwind. The design is influenced by industrial style, with wooden accents giving the space a rustic appearance and grey velvet textiles providing a minimalist tone. Indoor plants offer biophilic components, and bright walls make the space feel as spacious as possible. The room is taller and more interesting thanks to the exposed wooden trusses.

SECOND YEAR UNIVERSITY PROJECT RETAIL
After being given a brand and a type of project, we were tasked with creating a store design for a concept that would otherwise never exist in reality. I was given the brand Apple, and Fashion as the type of project. Apple Fashion is a concept store which would sell clothing items and fashion accessories that are consistent with Apple’s brand image and work with Apple’s existing products and services such as Fitness+ and Apple TV.

Apple’s newest concept store, “Apple Fashion,” is located in the heart of Mayfair on the west side of New Bond Street, north of Grosvenor Street.Whilst they are located close to a number of listed buildings, 123 - 124 New Bond Street are recognised as unlisted buildings that improve the aesthetic and setting of the Mayfair Conservation Area.
FACILITIES:
Just a few minutes walk from Oxford Street, New Bond Street is famed for its superbly designed flagship stores, which include many cutting-edge concept stores. In order to maximise market exposure and footfall from both locals and tourists, the Apple Fashion concept store should be located in Westminster’s West End Special Retail Policy Area, where shoppers seek out unique shopping experiences. ARCHITECTURE:
• No. 123 constructed in 1879 according to Edmund Marks’ ideas
• Neo-Palladian architectural style
• Conventional masonry construction supporting floors made of wood
• Present shop window and entrance are contemporary components built within the classical stone frame.
• The fourth floor incorporated within a conventional mansard roofl form with dormer windows
• No. 124 is an example of a classical revival, nearly baroque style that dates back to Treadwell & Martin’s architectural practise in 1908
• Bold design elements, including a crowning arching pediment.
MATERIALS:
• Existing front facade is constructed of ornate stone masonry
• Side facade of 124 is constructed of brick masonry
I visited multiple Apple stores to examine how they are similar and different, and ultimately to obtain a better knowledge of Apple as a brand and how their stores are designed and constructed. Elements that were present in all or the majority of the stores must be present in “Apple Fashion” in order to maintain consistency.
Similarities included the white oak display tables used in every Apple store and the use of the same white oak on wall shelf displays. Both the Regent Street location in London and the Michigan Avenue location in Chicago have tall trees (the type of tree vary on location) sitting in white planters, as well as wooden boxes for customers to sit on and employees to have meetings and watch presentations.

Minimalst white oak wood shelving units displaying jeans with white oak wooden tables displaying t-shirts keeping the interior theme the same throughout using wooden elements, and burnt orage/brown leather to make the products stand out of the shelves.
Loungewear for wearing while watching Apple TV is displayed on white oak tables, and matching hoodies are displayed on backlit hanging rails. Customers can easily find and follow the route to the Apple Pickup station, which is situated in the centre of the building at the back. This allows customers to collect any online orders to make collections a lot smoother for both staff and customers.
Glass staircase with LED lighting to create an interesting, unusual and striking look as customers enter the building. Ideally located near the elevator and adds height with the void to create a balustrade on the second floor.
Customers can easily roam around the first floor’s open layout and browse all products on display. Customers are made to feel at ease while shopping thanks to the light grey concrete tiles that cover both floors, as well as the white walls and simple lighting fixtures that create a modern and sleek look.
Customers can engage with and test out products on display on the white oak table, including an Apple Airpod Max wooden wall, colourful phone cases, and iPads with Apple pens.
A fun and exciting way to display shoes. The shoe display’s backlit walls emphasise each style and make the colours stand out. All along, striking images are used to catch clients’ attention and create a wow effect.
The fitness area features Apple watches on a glass-topped white oak table with a variety of straps on a backlit wall, just like in other Apple stores. Yoga mats, back rollers, yoga blocks, and water bottles are among the fitness equipment on display here; they are all coloured to match Apple’s colour schemes.
Large screen in the back showcasing any items in a digital style as well as advertisements and staff meetings/presentations. White oak wooden boxes with leather boxes inside are displayed in front of the screen for customers to use when trying on shoes as well as staff to participate in meetings and presentations.

For Abellio Scot Rail, we were tasked with redesigning and revitalising the existing Anniesland Railway Station in Glasgow, Scotland. The project aims to create a space that can be used by the Anniesland community and commuters at all hours of the day, with a particular emphasis on young people and students aged 16 to 20, as well as the elderly and families. The station must meet Network Rail’s design specifications and become a destination for commuters in order to attract business and industry to the area. It must also ensure that the design creates a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment in which to visit and spend time.
ADDRESS:
Anniesland Station, Great Western Road, Anniesland, Glasgow City, G12 0AY
TOTAL AREA:
• 56.25sqm
ARCHITECTURE:
• Built in 1969
• Post-war modernist Architecture
MATERIALS:
• Sandstone Bricks
• Aluminium glass windows
• Prefabricated Structures
FEATURES:
• Platform 1 Southbound Extended Canopy
RISKS:
• Uneven ground over multiple levels
• Major disruptions to rail services
• Noise pollution
• Delays
• Access to site for deliveries
• Costs
• Damages
• Extreme weather
CONSIDERATIONS:
• How to extend the current structure
• How to create easier access to platform 2
• How to make the building more user friendly for the community
• How to make the building more enticing to students/ young people
FACILITIES: • Anniesland Cafe • Restrooms
As users enter the station, the station must have high ceilings in compliance with Network Rail’s design guidelines; as a result, a void over the stairs allows for a roomy entrance. The space is flooded with natural light thanks to the big full-height windows next to the stairs, which lowers energy costs and improves the user experience.
Since users will want to stop for breakfast or a coffee on the way to work or before they reach their destination, a cafe is essential for the new station. Making use of elements like wood and vegan leather results in a warm and inviting environment. Given the amount of foot activity, tile is the most practical flooring option. It contrasts with the natural materials to give the space a clean, modern, minimalist vibe.
Users can check train schedules and buy tickets using touch screen devices. In order to limit the spread of germs in the case of another pandemic, transparent screens are positioned between each one, featuring edge light strips to make them more visible to users.
Adding a lift improves accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Users can maintain their hygiene at several sanitising stations, and restrooms are plainly marked close to the ticket machines. To provide users with immediate access to any relevant information, a large screen showing train arrival and departure timings is positioned above the elevator.
The cafe uses metallic tiles to bounce light throughout and create as much natural light as possible. When using the station at night or in low light, illuminated menus make it easier for users to see what is for sale.
Users can see the grass and trees as they approach Platform 1 thanks to the double-height ceiling and void over the stairs, providing a pleasant view as they enter or exit the station. The platform level also allows users to view directly down at the ground below.
The roof’s design allows for extra height while also adding interest to the station’s overall aesthetic. Spotlights provided both daytime and nighttime lighting for the area as well as natural light which enters via the large windows. The overal design is natural and consistent throughout. In order to maintain consistency with the cafe on the lower level, simple wooden bench seating with vegan leather gives users a place to rest as they wait for their train.
The lift provides direct access and a clear path to the doors out to platform 1, making it possible for families with pushchairs and disabled people to reach the platform. A vending machine is conveniently located close to the lift and platform doors for people in a rush who might not want to wait in line at the cafe.

The private conference rooms are simple, spotless, and made to look natural by employing elements like wood. Office chairs with vegan leather are more sustainable while maintaining a professional look. Using glass windows and doors is contemporary, and it also enables users to close off the area by adjusting the opacity of the glass so the cab be private during meetings.
Users can access any computer whenever they need to thanks to the hotdesk stations scattered throughout. If the user requires a quieter workspace, there are also a few small private rooms close by. Given the size of the space, there is a need for enough of lighting, which is why there are not only big windows for natural light but also pendant lights above each desk along with large ceiling lights.
All of the training rooms are dimly lighted and make extensive use of neon lighting to give the space a fun, lively, and young. Neon lighting in fitness centres can help individuals exercising feel confident and motivated. It enhances appearance and mood by making things appear bright and vibrant.
Signage on the walls inspires and engages users by sending them motivating messages and engaging them in the activities. Energy, excitement, and intensity must be communicated through the inside. The space has a party atmosphere thanks to the neon lights which would appeal to the target users.
The apartments are roomy and peaceful, and the building receives plenty of natural light. Moreover, light strips are used to produce gentle lighting to attract attention to particular locations. Utilizing natural materials, such as wood, gives the structure coherence and is also most suitable for apartments.
In order to celebrate and remind residents of the city they are in, the flats will make references to Coventry in their artwork, such as a map of the city. Since the wood curves slightly over the corner, it gives the walls a continuous appearance. The white strip that separates the wood adds interest and directs attention to the artwork.
The spa’s swimming pool is divided between a large pool for people who wish to swim laps for exercise and a smaller pool for people who just want to relax. A lot of light enters the area through the full-height windows, which also cast fascinating shadows. On the surrounding sun loungers, Users can relax in a spacious, light environment that doesn’t feel claustrophobic and detaches them from the bustling city life outside.
The vertical wooden wall panels create the illusion of a higher ceiling even if the room is already double in height. The majority of the light in the room is provided by natural light, so having modest lighting that runs through the centre of the ceiling also helps to maintain a natural sense in the space.
My first-year university project, “Micro-apartment,” required me to plan the inside of a small apartment with the most crucial elements of the project being knowing the needs, living habits, and design preferences of the customer while also making the most use of every available square foot to avoid wasting any.
SKILLS USED:
Vectorworks
SketchUp / Enscape
Adobe Illustrator/ Photoshop
Individual
The location for the micro-apartment was not specified other than in must be in London, therefore due to needs and living style, Notting Hill was selected as a suitable part of London due to the close proximity to Portobello Road market and the abundance of fruit and vegetable vendors given that the client is a chef.
The client, Alice, is a chef who enjoys cycling, social gatherings, and cooking therefore, these were the key elements I needed to incorporate into my design. For my client, the kitchen would be the most crucial room, thus it would need to be the design’s main focus. Furthermore, Alice would require adequate room for any parties where she might want to socialise with her friends. The design should take full advantage of the high ceilings in order to maximise natural light, which will also help give the impression that the space is larger. Placement of a large window will allow light to partially enter the bedroom and the kitchen.
A handmade test model was made to gain a better understanding of the size of the apartment and whether the current layout would be suitable for the client.
Physical materials boards
Scandinavian inspired design will be present throughout. Earthy tones and soft, muted colours make the room feel cosy and natural while maintaining cohesion. I chose to utilise ash and pine for the furniture and flooring since these woods are frequently used in Scandinavian design. Scandinavian design also emphasises clean, uncluttered interiors that are minimalist in order to let in as much light as possible.
Render #1 - Rendering of the ground floor displaying the dining table with glass pendant lights above and the stairway with storage cabinets underneath to maximise the tiny area. Due of its proximity to the front entrance and kitchen, Alice can store both kitchen supplies in this location as well as her bicycle that she rides to work.
Render #2 - Since Alice is a chef and likes to prepare meals and hold dinner parties for friends and family, it is crucial that she has a sizable kitchen with enough of space for movement. The kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to be simple yet practical, with a clean finish and plenty of culinary appliances including an oven, hob, and large sink for washing dishes. For her food supply, she also has a sizable fridge-freezer, as well as a custom built-in wine rack. Maximum brightness and natural light can enter the room and reach the bedroom up the staircase thanks to the double height ceiling.
Render #4 - Alice can unwind in bed in her cosy bedroom, which is discretely tucked into a corner to give her a private retreat from the stresses of her day job. She can complete any paperwork on a tiny desk that has shelves above to maximise storage space. Fall prevention is assured by staying away from the staircase, especially at night. Some natural light can enter the bedroom from the stairway because it occupies just over half of the top floor.
Render #5 - The en-suite has tiled flooring for efficiency and wooden accents to give a natural atmosphere with earthy tones. It has a large shower cubicle so the client can relax after a long day.
