HANOVER MONTROSE Role: Lead Designer, Solomon Cordwell Buenz Location: Houston TX Completed: 2016 Total Sqft: 15,000 (Interior Amenity) Photos by Ed Lacasse In partnership with the Hanover Company, SCB recently completed Hanover Montrose, a 327 apartment unit residential building located in Houston, Texas. The 631,000-square-foot, 30-story luxury building includes 13,000 square feet of residential amenity space and parking for 493 cars. The building is situated near downtown Houston, which offers a great deal of upscale dining and entertainment outlets that are easily accessible to residents. Its’ spa-like amenities are available to the residents. Complete with a roof deck pool with cabanas and an open air loggia with dining areas offer a range of spectacular panoramic views of downtown Houston. The property features also unique amenities such as an arts studio with private storage for the creative minds, cold storage room, wine vault with private lockers, business center, fully-equipped fitness center, pet bathing stations, and a spacious theater.

Clean neutral colors found in the natural stone and dark wood elicit a relaxed and refreshing atmosphere. Fanciful light fixtures and art pieces give the building a distinguished look. The conference center, or “jewelry box”, acts as a special feature in the middle of the lobby and is an exaltation of the stone material.

HANOVER NORTH SHORE Role: Designer, Solomon Cordwell Buenz Location: Austin, TX Completed: 2015 Total Sqft: 12,000 (Interior Amenity) 17,000 (Pool Deck) Photos by Ed Lacasse Northshore is a 975,000-square-foot, mixeduse apartment and office building located in downtown Austin. Being within walking distance of the 2nd Street retail district and local restaurants. Northshore’s proximity to downtown is ideal. The exterior amenity deck on top of the building’s podium directly faces the Colorado River. The deck features outdoor landscaped areas along with fire and barbecue pits. private cabanas and plenty of seating areas, and a lounge adjacent to the infinity-edge pool. The enclosed amenity spaces include a fitness center, living room, catering kitchen, conference space, business center, bike storage, and media rooms. The cast-in-place, posttensioned concrete high-rise building is LEED Silver and an Austin Energy 3-Star rated Green Building. Interior finishes are powered by 100 percent renewable resources, and each unit features Energy Star-rated appliances, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

COUNTRY CLUB TOWERS Role: Designer, Solomon Cordwell Buenz Location: Denver, CO Completed: 2017 Total Sqft: 31,000 (Interior Amenity) Photos by BROE Group© Country Club Towers is a new twin tower development in the Speer neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. Adjacent to the Denver Country Club, the project offers 552 units and 989 parking spaces in two 32-story apartment towers atop a four-story parking garage podium base. Floor-to-ceiling glass affords residents expansive views of the Denver metropolitan area, while a robust amenity program features a roof terrace and pool, jacuzzi spa, fire pits, an outdoor kitchen, bocce ball court, and cabanas. The building’s amenities aim to connect the tenants to the culture of the city and surrounding landscape, thus blurring the relationship between indoor and outdoor space. The project responds to a challenging urban site with its distinctive form and lively exterior expression. The building’s interior design presents a naturalistic atmosphere, while still offering all of the cozy amenity of luxury living. Stone is prominent material featured on the towers, as is the wood boardwalk path on the amenity deck. The brown and copper tones, along with the wood throughout, create a chic, rustic, and sophisticated retreat.

CARROLL RESIDENCE Role: Lead Designer, DBK Interiors Location: Lincoln Park, Chicago IL Completed: 2014 Total Sqft: 1,700 Photos by VHT Studios© The goal of the project was to transform client’s city-chic vision into a livable sanctuary in the heart of Lincoln Park. Paved with walnut hard wood floor throughout, the interiors of this unit contain a large dining room leads to contemporary chef ’s kitchen with Sub Zero refrigerator, Wolf range, Bosch dishwasher, and a butler pantry. The large floor-to-ceiling store front windows in the south facing sub-filled Living Room overlooks to the historic fountain and a stunning garden behind the Lincoln Park 2550 tower, as well as the National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini. Its Master Bedroom is complete with custom built-in cabinetry, a his and hers large walkin closet, a marble bath with a stunning cantilevered double vanity, radiant heated floors, as well as a spa inspired steam shower.

UNITED POLARIS - SFO Role: Designer, Solomon Cordwell Buenz Location: San Francisco, CA Completed: 2018 Total Sqft: 28,000 Photos by Dave Burk© This new luxury passenger lounge, United Polaris, is a key component of the airline’s re imagined international business class experience. The Polaris Lounges will be strategically deployed in nine airports worldwide. As part of the design team, we focused on providing exclusivity, personalization, and user-comfort for United’s premier customers. The 28,000-square-foot, LEED Gold lounge at SFO is the second Polaris Lounge to have opened (O’hare to be the first) and will be the largest Polaris Lounges. The primary design objective for the lounge was to generate a sense of continuity between the on-board cabin environment and the lounge experience. This was achieved through thoughtful spatial planning, creating different zones within the lounges that celebrate the excitement of travel. We’ve thoughtfully studied use of materials, distinctive lighting, and impactful art throughout the lounge creates a truly differentiated experience for travelers. Numerous hospitality-level amenities were incorporated into the lounge to support United’s vision for an unprecedented standard of guest services. Guests can spend time preparing for long-haul flights in the relaxing rooms, or refueling at the bar, buffet, and dining areas. The club also offers a library where travelers can get work done.

111 SOUTH WACKER Role: Designer, Solomon Cordwell Buenz Location: Chicago, IL Completed: 2017 Total Sqft: 40,000 (Interior Amenity) Photos by Darris Harris PhotographyŠ Located in the best and renowned location in downtown Chicago, 111 South Wacker Drive is one of the most prestigious Class-A office towers in Chicago. With the modern officeuser in mind, a total of 40,000 square foot worth of interior amenity spaces were designed in an unparalleled manner on the 10th, 11th, and 29th floors, contributing to making the building one of the most desired workplaces in Chicago. Expansive views of downtown can be seen in all corners of the amenity spaces, allowing for abundant natural light and a connection to the energy of the surrounding city. For tenants looking to be active during the work day, the 10th and 11th amenity floors feature a newly renovated and expanded fitness center with a steam room, yoga studio, golf simulator, and shuffleboard. The 11th floor hosts a large, Wi-Fi-enabled tenant lounge and coffee bar designed with oversized pendant lighting, custom-made built-in banquettes, and an exposed wood ceiling, delivering an urban chic design aesthetic.

One of the most prominent design features on the 29th floor is a 400-seat double-height conference space designed to be divisible by a sky-fold partition, offering a large amount of pre-function space. The thoughtful selection of back-lit perforated ceiling panels creates soft lighting and is inspired by the city lights at night. Inside the conference space, stepped wall panels with cove lighting celebrates the high ceilings and creates visual motion and a dramatic impact. During the warmer months, tenants can take advantage of an outdoor terrace with comfortable patio furniture and views of downtown.
