Heinz Marzohl
Heinz Marzohl, based in Switzerland, spent 34 years at the helm of a distinguished company with 30 employees that specialized in lettering technology, digital printing, and graphic design. During this time he crafted numerous brand logos, signage concepts for shopping centers, and captivating art graphics for industrial buildings, blending symbols, shapes, and figures in mesmerizing color palettes.
In 2007, he passed the reins of the company to his two daughters, pivoting towards his passion for art painting. Transitioning from constructed letters to vibrant images, Marzohl drew inspiration from renowned masters like Kandinsky, Marc, Jawlensky, and Klee, exploring the depths of their thoughts and emotions rather than merely imitating their works.
Fascinated by ancient cave paintings dating back 30,000 years, Marzohl found resonance in the primal expressions of our ancestors, channeling their essence into his art. As his artistic journey deepened, he delved into the spiritual and mysterious aspects of art, believing that his unique visions allowed for a profound connection with viewers, transcending the confines of realistic representation.
Many of Marzohl’s canvas paintings serve as vibrant narratives, capturing his lived experiences in colorful, captivating stories. Through a meticulous painting technique developed in 2022, 2023, and 2024, he intricately blended figurative and abstract elements, employing cleverly coordinated colors and bold black outlines juxtaposed with dark, irregular structures to heighten contrasts.
The result is a collection of enchanting, fascinating, and mysterious artworks, each exuding a unique, archaic aura that captivates and mesmerizes viewers, inviting them to embark on a journey into the depths of Marzohl’s vision.

Gayle Printz
United States
Gayle Printz, an American World Master Artist, embarked upon her artistic journey in May of 2020, amidst the darkness cast by the pandemic. Despite lacking formal training, Printz was steeped in a creative milieu from a young age, with a mother who painted, a father who played piano, and siblings involved in music and sculpture. Her formative years included summers at a Fine Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan, where she was immersed in a world of artistic expression.
While painting had always intrigued her, Printz never had the opportunity to explore it fully until the onset of Covid-19 and its accompanying “Isolate in Place” measures provided her with ample time for creative pursuits. Hoping to channel her energy into an expressive outlet, Printz turned to online shopping to procure art supplies, eager to capture the remaining beauty in the world with a paintbrush.
Initially viewing painting as a private means of introspection, Printz soon found herself compelled to share her thoughts and emotions through her artwork. To her surprise, the response was not only immediate but also international in scope, as her paintings resonate with audiences far and wide.

“My artwork is very much inspired by visual storytelling. The thing I love most is capturing my subject’s likeness through vitalizing details – both on the surface of the artwork, as well as the narrative behind it.
I often use a mixed media approach, combining acrylic and colored pencil. Working this way combines the freedom of laying bold washes with the tight control of drawing. As the piece is built up in many thin layers, I can carefully explore all the details. Quilting these details together as a visual story is where I find my greatest artistic passion.”
Marissa earned her BFA in Illustration from Hartford Art School in 2012 and has since pursued a successful career as a professional illustrator specializing in portraiture. Following her first children’s book illustration project, she has been featured in numerous publications and television programs. Her work includes collaborations with ESPN and creating illustrations for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s annual concert production “Tales of Halloween.”

Canada Hélène DeSerres
Hélène DeSerres was immersed in art from an early age, growing up surrounded by numerous artworks in her family and grandparents’ homes. As a child, she enjoyed working with pastels, particularly drawing birds, which sparked her lifelong fascination with the animal world.
Her formal art education began at Concordia University in Montreal, formerly known as Sir George Williams University. She later studied under Albert Rousseau in Québec City, whose rapid execution left a lasting impression. Shifting her focus to soapstone, DeSerres explored various materials, integrating their applications into both her canvas and 3D works.
During a period of “back to the land,” she lived on a farm and raised her two children before returning to Montréal. In 1980, she took a watercolor course at the Visual Arts Center, driven by a desire to uncover Rousseau’s techniques. Her career was further shaped by André Turpin, who introduced her to clay sculpture, and Ming Ma, whose Chinese-inspired watercolors captivated her. In 1993, she created three life-size sculptures in resin and fiberglass and joined the Cercle des Artistes-peintres de Québec in 1994. The following year, she learned the lost-wax casting process at Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and cast her first bronzes.
DeSerres excels in working with diverse materials, from watercolors to clay, lost-wax to bronze, and pencil to acrylic. Her approach is intuitive and organic, often avoiding detailed descriptions of her process. In her studio, she engages in what she calls “experiences,” allowing her subconscious to guide her creativity.
Deeply concerned about climate change, DeSerres’s work reflects a commitment to environmental issues, portraying nature with both artistic fluidity and a clear message.

TOM ASHBOURNE SSC SCA OSA
“Sculpture, unlike other art forms, has multiple sides, angles, views, and needs to work with light in many different ways. It’s a very sophisticated art form and artistic expression. I’ve been collecting and appreciating art for most of my life and these are some of the reasons why sculpture has become my favourite.
I naturally think in 3D, a gift that few people share. I can see things in the raw stone, and find the best way to bring them to life. I continually assess the sculpture as it evolves, working on each side with equal intensity. I want each side of the sculpture to draw people’s interest, over and over.
My sculptures are an expression of my life and artistic experiences, and are an extension of my knowledge about what transforms a sculpture into a successful artistic statement.”

“Inspiration for me is in everyday life, in all the events and people I interact with. They make my mood positive or negative. Accordingly, I try to reflect all this in my work. I’m generally a realist, so hyperrealism is the closest to my character. Why a simple pencil? Because I love simplicity, modesty, and representing reality without excessive embellishment. Creating such a work requires scrupulous processing of every detail. This process requires a lot of time and a balanced nervous state. Often, the process takes months. However, the achieved result is so interesting that it is worth all this work.”

“While listening to music, amazing images and colors flow through my mind and body. This has been going on for as long as I can remember, and I guess I figured this is how life is for everyone, so it never occurred to me to talk about it or question if others experienced this. Fairly recently, I was asked by my children why I did not allow music to be played at certain times when I was driving.
That was the first time I had to think about and verbalize what I was experiencing and realized that not everyone experiences this. Once I started explaining, I gained a more complete understanding of my artwork as well as my mission as an artist. Looking back at the artwork I have created as far back as elementary school, it has pertained to movement, music, color, and light, capturing what I was seeing and experiencing. The colors I see range from opaque bold colors to transparent light, which most likely explains why I am drawn to both oil painting and glasswork. My soul is nourished through listening to many different kinds of music and experiencing these images and colors. My mission through my art is to Nourish Your Soul Through a Symphony of Light and Colour!”
