DOG DAYS
BRING YOUR CANINE COMPANION ON YOUR NEXT GOLETA GETAWAY.
Between the dog-friendly restaurants and hotels and abundance of outdoor spaces for pups to play, there’s no need to leave Fido home with a pet sitter. And if you want to do something that isn’t dog-friendly, you can always check your pup into the award-winning Dioji K-9 Resort & Athletic Club.
Day One
MORNING: Nab an outside table at Jeannine’s Restaurant & Bakery for a breakfast of champions. Take a walk along the Ellwood Bluffs, stopping to take in the sweeping views. Make your way to West Ellwood Beach, where dogs are permitted on leash.
AFTERNOON: Score a patio seat at The Nugget Bar & Grill for a classic American-style lunch. Stop by Tabano Hollow Dog Park for some off-leash frolicking.
EVENING: Dig into delicious Mexican fare at Los Agaves or spice things up with TAP Thai—both offer pet-friendly patios.
Day Two
MORNING: After picking up coffees at Dune, head to Coal Oil Point Trail for a 4-mile walk through the nature preserve.
AFTERNOON: Pack sandwiches from Panino and head to Goleta Beach Park for a beach day—don’t miss a walk onto the fishing pier. Stop by Captain Fatty’s Brewery for a pint paired with mountain views.
EVENING: Head to Timbers Roadhouse for a classic Goleta dining experience. The patio is well-stocked with games and firepits to keep you warm and entertained.

EVENING: Splurge on a sushi feast at San Setto at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara and walk it off with a moonlit stroll along the beach in front of the resort.
Day Two
MORNING: Start your day with an early breakfast at Cody’s Café. Head to Haskell’s Beach for a pre-booked Gaviota Coast Kayak Tour with Santa Barbara Adventure Co. Throughout your 2.5-hour paddle, your guide will share insights about the ecosystem and offer breaks for swimming.
AFTERNOON: Work your legs on a late afternoon hike along the 4.2-mile Bill Wallace El Capitán Trail as you admire the pristine Gaviota Coast from land.
EVENING: If you’re staying at El Capitan Canyon, get a Barbecue Kit to grill up at your cabin or yurt. If you’re staying elsewhere, do dinner at Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant—a Goleta institution dating back to 1958.
