Mistakes To Avoid In Internet Marketing carlosbatista.go-online-today.com /mistakes-to-avoid-in-internet-marketing/ When it comes to internet marketing, there are things that you simply need to avoid so that you will not waste your time. Unfortunately, these are very common mistakes and if you are able to avoid these, you will be able to have an edge on your competition. If you are serious about being a successful internet marketer, then you need to focus on these mistakes and to remember to avoid them.

Not having a niche

Making your presence known online is all about having a niche. If you fail to choose a good niche, you will never be able to really succeed. This is because the internet already has a lot of competition and so you need to find a niche where you can excel and actually get traffic to your site.

Rushing the process Too many people simply try to get overnight success and this is not going to happen. If you are serious about being able to succeed in any aspect of life, rushing things will only make things worse. You need to take it slow and focus on long term success. Once you realize that patience really is a virtue, you will see that your online journey will only get better.

No originality

The internet has a lot of content and so you can’t be a copy of other things. You will need to be original and have your own style on the internet. Once you are able to do this, there is no stopping you from succeeding. If you are able to avoid these simple things, you will be able to really make your presence known on the internet. Most people will admit that these are the simplest mistakes to create and if you avoid these from the very beginning, you will be able to really prosper online.

Are you finished before you start? A colleague and I were in conversation recently when he shared a very profound statement, “You can be finished before you start.” We were talking about the power of one’s mind, more specifically about ones sales mindset. He was relaying an exchange he had many years ago when he was an electronics sales rep. He was comparing notes with another rep that was having difficulty getting in to see prospects to promote their company’s product. He wanted to know why I was having so much success, and he was not. Turns out, this sales rep found it extremely difficult to turn the doorknob to enter the office. He had such high selfdoubt, he explained, that he had lost the sale before he even initiated the call. This is when I summed things up by commenting, “You are finished before you start!” This simple statement may apply to those suffering with weak sales results. Appreciate sales is not for everyone. Being in the sales profession requires intelligence, personality, perseverance and a strong believe in ones self and belief in ones customer.

What is your objective?

When you think about it, your objective is to help your prospect make an informed purchasing decision (or not) based on the knowledge you bring to the table. Most successful sales people are advocates for their prospects, doing what is in the client’s best interest. This typically evolves into a meaningful relationship based on mutual trust and understanding. Those that rise to the top in the sales profession also tend to have a high belief in self. How is your belief in self? Do you experience self-doubt to the point you have trouble making that call, or making that initial offer to your prospect? This is more common in sales than we think, not just for those new to the business, it can affect experienced sales people who have fallen into the infamous “rut”. How we think and how we see our self causes this “affliction”. How we see ourselves in our minds eye determines our belief in self. The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful. Research has determined our actions are a result of what we think.

The power of your thoughts The challenge is to recognize when one is not thinking positively about their capabilities and then develop strategies to counteract this thought process. Here are some tips you can use: 1. Remind yourself of your previous successes 2. Focus on your current strengths and future potential 3. Visualize yourself being successful several times a day 4. Record a positive belief statement you can repeat 5 times a day 5. Set and achieve realistic goals (start small), then stretch them 6. Celebrate successes along the way

In the classic book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, he makes the case it is scientifically impossible to conceive an idea in your mind, to believe you can do it, and then not be able to. The fact we can conceive something in our mind and believe we can do it, means we can. Don’t be finished before you start. Your sales mindset needs to be the “hidden partner that allows you to not only succeed in sales, but to thrive.

Getting ahead of the game Business owners look at competition as a terrible thing. But for the customers at large this is a good thing. Customers benefit from the price war that occurs among products of the same line. Because of this, prices go down allowing people to buy goods or avail of services at affordable prices. But as terrible as it may seem to a business owner, competition should never be seen as a disadvantage. Instead, you should strive to make your product or service better to stay ahead of your competitors. You can go as far ahead of your competitors in terms of displays, methods, stocks and advertising strategy. Doing so you can look back at your rivals with a big smile and feeling of content and triumph. Supposing you are a dealer of ladies garments and there are three other dealers like you in your town. Would you fear the competition? Perhaps you would but if you know that you are carrying a stock quality that is better than your competitors and applying a good marketing strategy there is practically nothing for you to fear.

Be honest Keep in mind though that if you are using promotional materials such as posters as part of your marketing approach, make sure that the poster contains honest advertising and attention-grabbing design. With the technology that is available today it has become much easier to design advertising that grabs attention at an affordable price. However, if you don’t intend to design the advert yourself, find a company that can best meet your needs. If you were to go for a company that offers poorer quality than what you are seeking, you would find yourself with products that are not useful and salable. Likewise, you might end up finding a company that cannot complete your job at the required time-frame. This would obviously cause you considerable stress. Hence, doing some research, looking around and making a careful plan can help a lot in finding the right company to handle your request. Although most advertising companies cover a lot of services, not all will be able to do the job that you need. Nevertheless, to have a lot of choices you will need to branch out and check as many listings as possible. The Internet offers listing of thousands of companies that you could check out without leaving your home. Words of caution though, make sure that the company knows exactly what you want with your project to avoid any problem in the end. So get ahead of your competitors by keeping a step or two ahead of them. Good marketing material will do the trick yet a quality product or service is still the most important.
