DIRECTOR'S NOTE Greetings and welcome to Annie! We have missed the magic of gathering in our beautiful Lafon Arts Center to share stories with you. Now that we're back, all we needed to complete the magic was you, our audience. And we couldn't be more excited to present Broadway's favorite, seven-time Tony award winning musical! Knowing what a special time it was going to be when we returned to the theatre, it was easy to settle on our theme for this year's season - family. We saw just how important family meant to each of the March girls illustrated so beautifully in Little Women. And after perusing our short list of "shows-to-do," it made perfect sense that Annie should close out our season. Full of tongue-in-cheek humor, characters that we can picture instantly when just mentioned, and songs that every American can sing by heart, it can sometimes be whittled down to being "cheesy." But truly, it's about a little girl (and her most adorable pup, Sandy!) who finds love and a family in a man that never knew he needed one. Annie's unwavering commitment to her beliefs and boundless optimism is so infectious it inspires political change that alters the course of our nation - or so the story goes in our telling. We are so honored and thrilled to have been gifted such an incredible cast of young performers and couldn't be more proud of their work. And, of course, we are most grateful to you, our patrons, for your support of Destrehan Theatre. Welcome back! Kyle Aucoin-Melohn Program Director Destrehan Theatre
